Bring On Tomorrow-Fame I can't believe no one said this.
It was my classes Graduation song last year. We were fine singing it for Graduation but the last day of class our director had asked us what our favorite song from high school was to put in the senior bios, and well we sang through them all our favorites on the last day, and when we sang bring on tomorrow, we all lost it, hahah I almost made it, but they got me with 15 minutes til class was over. Everyone was wondering why our eyes were all red at lunch.
OMG you guys are so awesome! I knew I couldn't come up with all these songs on my own! Thanks
Keep them coming!

We'll Be Together- Grease 2 (Yes, it's cheesy as all heck)

Technically not a friendship song per se, but it is a very strong "togetherness" song as the theme is friendship. I think it make a great graduation song: "Our Time" from Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim.
WELL good graduation songs/ friend songs:
Old Friends -- getting my act together...
we're gonna make it after all -- Leader of the Pack
My Friend -- The life
(GO STAGEDOOR!)
Heh
You do realize that 'Time of Your Life' by Green Day is ACTUALLY called 'Good Riddance,' don't you?
CJR..
Surprised you didn't suggest "I Can't Do It Alone" ...
Bittersweet: Friends, the very best of from Do Black Patent Leather Shoes..
Consider Yourself from Oliver

No One is Alone-Into the Woods
"Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd is another beautiful "friend" song.
"Happiness" from the Broadway Musical, "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown."
My friends and I had actually made a tape of songs (yes I said tape, not CD...I'm old lol) back when we graduated from Junior High. Here are the songs we used...since I just went upstairs and found the tape:
1. Count On Me- from the movie "Waiting to Exhale"
2. If We Hold Together- from the movie "The Land Before Time"...also on Diana Ross's greatest hits
3. Remember Me This Way- by Jordon Hill (I think that's their name)
4. Now and Then- from the movie by same title
5. We Go Together- from "Grease"
6. You Were There- from the movie "Simon Birch"
7. My One True Friend- by Bette Midler
8. The theme song from the Golden Girls
9. At the Beginning- from the movie "Anastasia"
10. Friendship- from "Dubarry Was A Lady"
11. The theme song from Perfect Strangers
12. The theme songs from Friends
13. Wind Beneath My Wings- by Bette Midler
14. I'll Remember- by Madonna
15. Friends- by Bette Midler
16. You've Got A friend- by Carol King
17. Time of Your Life- from the movie "Dirty Dancng"
Balladeer,
A lovely song to add...but may I make a suggestion? I would go with a Barbra/Bernadette/Betty version rather than the Ken Jenning/Angie Lansbury 'Oh ****, you know what we've done and now I'm going to have to kill you, Toby' version.
Robbie,
Well duh....when you take it out of the context of the show, and just sing the song, it sounds pretty....LOL.
:)

uh...Theatrebaby....
If your tape had songs on it from Waiting to Exhale, Dirty Dancing and Beaches, you can't be THAT old...
I consider those songs from MY generation... and I just turned 30~
(Jeez...this is the second post I've put here that is about age...paranoid much?)
lol I know I'm not really that old. I just meant it as a joke considering that some young kids today consider tapes to be antique, and they only know of CD's and MP3's, and I-Pod.
I graduated Junior High in 1996.
Ballsy,
You know me! Why make something pretty, when you can make it about murder and cannibalism?
You should have seen my production of HARVEY. They ate the rabbit.

CJR.. Surprised you didn't suggest "I Can't Do It Alone" ...
Hahhaha Actually, I was thinking of adding "Nowadays"... put it on a friendship type cd I made for a friend of mine when she was leaving for school and having a complete panic attack about moving away from everyone.
And since when is "Time of Your Life" called "Good Riddance"? Did I miss something? hahhaha
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
How about "We May Never Pass This Way Again" by Seals and Crofts and "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters???
Second that notion!
I vote "My Friend" from The Life. I think it was mentioned above.
