The stats that really struck me was that the audience is 68% female and the average age of someone attending a Brodway show was over 42 yrs old. As a guy, it is sad to see that so few men enjoy theatre in comparison to women. The age statistic is probably partly due to the cost of theatre. Even discounted tickets may be expensive for the twenty somethings and not everybody has time to do "Rush" tickets. I wonder how much higher the age statistic wound have been if not for Disney type shows like "Lion King" and "Cinderella".
