Posted: 12/17/08 at 5:50pmThe Ariel barbie looks exactly like the stage costume...with no heelies. There was a little girl at the table next to me on Saturday night at dinner that had just come from Mermaid and was clutching her Ariel doll like her life depended on it.

For those still interested, here are some pictures of the final product:
This is my first shot of the finished product, taken on my phone about 3 seconds after we put the show curtain in. All components made of wood or paper were done by me. Anything in fabric came from my dad. Though you won't see them all here, there are 10 interchangeable backdrops mounted on mat board, covering locales from forests to mountains to castles to cottages.
The curtain rises to reveal Amneris, Radames and Aida in their classic love triangle, set against a backdrop of pyramids and the sphinx.

This thread will show you how you can use Barbie in every musical ever imagined...and then some. It also shows you how creative the people who post on BWW can be. Enjoy!

Fun! Thanks for sharing the pics.
Mattel also did, by the way, a Barbie for Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. It was not just a recreation of the movie Belle.
