I caught the tale end of if last year after my matinee. It can get very crowded in Shubert Alley. Just be aware of that, but it is indeed a lot of fun!

I saw the event is from 3-6:30. Is there stuff before?

I would not know as I missed the beginning because I was at a show. If you want a good spot, get there early because events like this draw big crowds and Shubert Alley is small, so there will be people crammed into each other.
