Greatest Showman Musical - News & Discussion Thread Mar 16 2026, 09:21:05 AM
So...
I was at the first public performance last night in Bristol and wow! For a first performance, that was flawless. No show stops, no mess-ups, nothing. There's so much to talk about, so I will put some of it below: Click Here To Toggle Spoiler Content All of the songs from the film are still in, along with five new songs. Three in Act 1, and

Cynthia Erivo's Dracula - Terrifying Pics! Feb 11 2026, 05:30:22 AM
Ok, first and foremost, last night wasn't a finished product, so there's not much to judge on. Now, I did not see Dorian Gray, but I had some prior knowledge of Kip Williams' directorial approach. I was mesmerized by the camera work and how pre-recorded footage overlaps with the live feed. Truly a cinematic experience to witness live. That being said, Cynthia flubbed some lines, but quickly corrected herself. But the thing that has me concerned about her not being completely off-b

Don't count Platt out. He still has a pretty significant following worldwide.

Ben Platt to lead UK premiere of MIDNIGHT AT THE NEVER GET directed by James Cromer Feb 9 2026, 04:56:51 AM
Great! This, along with Sunday at the Barbican, will require me to spend money on more theatre memberships! lol!
This will most definitely sell out quickly as it's the Menier with a BIG STAR like Ben Platt!

Moulin Rouge to Close on Broadway Feb 5 2026, 07:18:27 PM
Paddington would work better in the Hirschfeld. it’s intimate and they can replicate the proscenium decorations in the house with the box seats. My only question is who would be brought over from the London company. My guess is they will have to wait and see how they do at the main awards season (I.e Olivier Awards) before announcing a transfer. My guess is they’ll bring James Hameed, Bonnie Langford, and possibly Victoria Hamilton Barret over with the rest being Americans. <

Reworked American Psycho Feb 5 2026, 06:18:23 AM
Managed to see this earlier this week, and there was a lot to unpack. Click Here To Toggle Spoiler Content I went in completely blind, having never seen the film or read the book. I only did some minor research to understand the concept and why the original production was a flop. A simple answer: as many have said, this musical was ahead of its time 13 year

KENREX to Premiere Off-Broadway in Spring 2026 Jan 28 2026, 07:27:43 AM
Following two sold-out runs in London, Jack Holden's incredible new true crime thriller will be coming stateside!
I saw this in December last year, and it was probably one of the best plays I have ever seen. It was terrifying and electric. Anyone who plans to be in NYC this spring, YOU NEED TO SEE IT! Book your tickets immediately! NYC is not ready for this powerful play! Has anyone on here seen it during its London runs?

Jordan Catalano said: "I’m watching this now for the first time and my God, this is filmed terribly. Those constant close-ups do such a disservice to this show."
I so agree with this. I wonder, since this was filmed (besides the closeups) during their first performance after the Tony Awards, that they could not use most of the wide shots as audience members were constantly on their feet, preferably the moment when Groff breaks down, turning the "Tony Award

Into the Woods - The Bridge, London Dec 9 2025, 07:03:36 AM
Ok, so this was probably the darkest production of ITW that I have ever seen, and my oh my was it fantastic! The cast alone deserves all the praise in my book. Katie Brayben as the Baker's Wife made me weep at times. She really embraces the character so well and probably better than Sara Bareilles (no shade to her, she was amazing in the role as well). But TBH, the true stars of the evening are Jo Foster and Grace McGonigal. My god, the comedic nature of them both is contagious! In an alr

You may just be an audience member, but remember that the money you pay for your ticket to see Lane & Metcalf goes towards Scott Rudin.

OFFICIAL: Lane/Metcalf DEATH OF A SALESMAN to open at Winter Garden, March 2026 Dec 2 2025, 12:02:36 PM
You're missing the point here. Rudin should not have been given the chance to produce again. Plain and simple! The fact that you are still defending him really shows that you do not care about his past behavior. The whole "if he f**k's up again" thing is a bunch of BS. If he does F up again, then will we cancel him for a short period and then welcome him back in? Come on! When he stepped away, that should have been it for his career. PERIOD!

OFFICIAL: Lane/Metcalf DEATH OF A SALESMAN to open at Winter Garden, March 2026 Dec 2 2025, 06:49:49 AM
I'm probably gonna get called out about this, but I need to say this. As much as I dislike discouraging people from seeing a show, I cannot, for the life of me, support any show produced by Scott Rudin. The fact that people on here are excited about this production seems to overlook the fact that, again, this is a RUDIN PRODUCTION! To support this is supporting Rudin. Therefore, seeming to forget his decades of horrible behavior. I would rethink purchasing a ticket. Again, anyone who
