Posted: 3/21/06 at 11:30amDoes anyone know when this event is this year? My sister (who loves both Broadway and Bears) is coming to New York in June and wants to go to this. Anyone know?

Posted: 3/21/06 at 12:25pmNever mind, I found it. The Corner doesn't have any information on the event, which I found rather odd, but I found out it is May 21st. Who's going?

Posted: 3/21/06 at 12:38pmIt was cancelled in February due to the blizzard. It has been rescheduled but I'm not sure of the date. Maybe the May 21st date mentioned. Check Broadway Cares website. It's their event.

The Ruprecht bear is a scream!
The Audrey Two bear is hysterical as well. I wish I had the money to bid on these!

Posted: 5/22/06 at 9:54amAnyone know how they sold? I would have loved the Ruprecht bear, but I bet that went for a bundle. The King Arthur bear was very well done also.

The Carrie one is the CUTEST.
I also love the Incomparable Rosalie one and Producers sausage girl one.

The Avenue Q bear went for the most...$8250. John Tartaglia was there, and he threw in a set tour of his new tv show, and the bear will also include a voice box on which he will record whatever message the winner wishes.
The next most expensive bear was the Sophia bear from Color Purple, signed by Felicia Fields and Oprah. That went for $5500. The Spamalot bear went for $4800...those were the most expensive. Many of the bears went for less than expected...the Carrie bear sold for $1300, the Ruprecht for $1900. (Opening bids are $500, by the way.) The Billy Crystal bear only went for $700, and that included a voice box with Billy saying something like "Hug me, already!" and an opening night gift from the show. The Christine Daae bear was $1800, and that included the program from the recent 18th anniversary gala and a poster signed by everyone who was there that night, including Michael Crawford, ALW, Hal Prince and Cameron Mackintosh...

Jeez!!! $8,250?!? I don't even have that much in my bank account let alone to buy a bear!!!
When is "Johnny and the Sprites" coming out? I heard in September but he hasn't updated his site in a while and he said he would update it more often

Posted: 5/22/06 at 11:06amThe Charity one went for only $900 - and that was with one of the collapsible top hats from the show thrown in. The bear also had a little signed photo of Vittorio Vidal (sp?), it was very cute.
