Hello everyone!

I had a question about Broadway ticket demand around the second week of December. Specifically, I will be in NYC December 12 to 16. I lived in NYC last summer, so I had that season sort of figured out in regards to rush/Today Tix and TKTS booth, but I'm wondering how different it would be in those dates in December, specifically with the shows we plan to see. Right now my list is the following:

-Anastasia

-Once on This Island

-Frozen and/or Mean Girls

-Lifespan of a Fact

-In an ideal world we would get to see Cursed Child as well, but probably only if we can get an amazingly good deal with tickets.

I know many of the shows have pretty decent tickets now, but was wondering if I should buy any in advance and how much can I rely on getting them closer to our actual trip date and/or the tkts booth/Todaytix. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

It might be worth it to join TDF for Lifespan of a Fact. It’s a play and in a fairly large theater (assuming they don’t close the balcony) so it might show up there. Anastasia was just on, but I wouldn’t count on it during the holidays. I would get the Mean Girls tickets as early as possible since it is selling out and the rush is crowded. I hear TodayTix raised their fees and people are going elsewhere. Otherwise I would just watch for discounts from places like Theatermania and pounce if you see a good deal. And remember there are more than one TKTS booths. It’s probably worth a trip down to the seaport or up to Lincoln Center to avoid the crowds.

There are't a lot of discounts available at that time of year, but they CAN happen...especially for shows that are aren't in high demand.  Mid-week discounts are more likely than weekend.  IF you'll find any it will be for OOTI and Anastasia.  Lifespan of a Fact has possibilities since it's a play (vs musical) but I think it will be difficult to find reduced pricing other than lottery/rush for either Frozen OR MeanGirls.  And I would guess a pipe dream to find them for Cursed Child.  (That being said, if you poke around on the website every now and again, you MIGHT find some less expensive seats for CC - supposedly more seats get released, so you might just get lucky.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thank you! Yes, I am a TDF member as well. That said, although I'm counting on Lifespan of a Fact being a play, I am curious of how much pull Mr. Radcliffe has to get butts in seats. Selfishly hoping it is not as much as the character he once played. Broadway Early-Mid December
