How DO they still keep Brooklyn running???!
3rd bad week for Little Women in row...
10 shows with attendance-% over 90!

Posted: 4/25/05 at 7:33pmWith Brooklyn, it may just be a matter of time. This is the third week in a row it's failed to break even, grossing no more that $182K. We'll see how much the producers are willing to continue to lose (unless the stop clause get invoked first).

I don't think the theatre owners will invoke the stop clause for Brooklyn. There isn't a show waiting for Brooklyn to vacate the Plymouth Theatre, perhaps until things start to heat up again in October and November. Even a show performing with low grosses pays more rent than a theatre sitting empty for the summer. So, Brooklyn could conceivably be around through the summer, unless the show starts doing significantly worse at the box officce.

Posted: 4/25/05 at 7:59pmNot to mention, if there was a show that should come along and need a theatre, the Belasco and the Barrymore will both be empty soon, once the limited runs of Julius Caesar and Glass Menagerie conclude.
