"We'll definitely agree to disagree. In the context you set with the previous post, it's much more comparable than you realize and/or are willing to accept.
I think you misunderstand my point - all I'm saying is that the amount of $$ America spends on theatre vs the amount of $$ America spends on professional sports isn't comparable.
"Newintown's elitist and snobbish attitude is not representative of the theatergoing community as a whole."
I'm not sure what I wrote that strikes you as either "elitist" or "snobbish."
"Personally, I've always found it rather strange that there are actually people who walk around with the ridiculous belief that if people enjoy watching sporting events, it means that they can't possibly also enjoy playing sports themselves.
That's not what I wrote, but I can understand a touchy person jumping to that conclusion. I do seriously doubt that the average sports watcher spends as much time playing games as they do watching them (and spending money watching them), however.
"Personally, I've always found it rather strange that some people can't recognize that attending and watching sporting events are (sic) an enjoyable form of recreation and have been pretty much since the beginning of time...
The beginning of time? Really? I've missed the article describing the discovery of Neanderthal sports arenas.
"Personally, I've always found it rather strange that people who wouldn't know a football from a foot rest think they have enough knowledge to comment on it without sounding like an idiot."
As noted previously: touchyyyyyyyyyyyy...

And why do people need to play sports in an amount exactly equal to how much they watch sports to make it OK? If I spend 3 hours at a baseball game, does that mean I have to work out 3 hours that day in order for it to be OK?
Newintown, further efforts to try to broaden your extremely limited perspective just simply aren't worth the time. I'm sorry you were picked last for kickball in 2nd grade. Time to get over it.

What was intended as a light and casual observation has already worn out the patience of everyone, including me, as well as enraged a few others to the point of feeling personally attacked and calling names, it seems.
Let's just move on and pretend we never addressed one another. That seems the most pleasant solution.

I saw the Gentleman's Guide matinee today on 48th and dared to head to Times Square excuse me.. Super Bowl Boulevard afterwards but it wasn't as crowded as on normal Wednesday.
There were more Super Bowl volunteers and Elmo, Big Birds and Minnie Mice than tourists.
Course it could've been because it was freaking freezing....

We did bring it up, just not in this thread because this isn't the week it dropped, it was the following week (week ending 2/2).
