My point is, Broadway didn't have to be the end-game for Inheritance. If critically lauded, sold out off-Broadway runs for the shows I mentioned worked for them, I don't understand why they felt Inheritance had to be on Broadway.
Also funny enough, SouthernCakes, if you look at Billie Piper's social media, she referred to the entire Armory run of YERMA as "Broadway." She genuinely believed and advertised that she performed a limited run on Broadway - which proves my point about it not mattering where these shows end up.

That’s funny about Piper referring to it as “Broadway.” I would bet that her mistake stems from the fact that, in London, the equivalent term “West End” is used more loosely, and compared to Broadway, there’s more grey area as to what’s “west end” and what isn’t. She was probably just saying “Broadway” casually, to mean a large-scale NYC production. By now she’s probably aware that it wasn’t officially a Broadway production, given that she wasn’t eligible for the Tony Award and such.
