Dreamworks has said the Shrek will remain open until at least the TONYS.
I really don't think the Tonys are going to help Shrek that much. If families aren't going to see it now, I can't see them all of a sudden changing their mind and go see it if it picks up a Tony or two. Mermaid didn't get any Tonys or that good of reviews yet families still want to see that. Is Dreamworks holding out 'til summer maybe? These numbers are quite sad for something as big as Shrek. I'm not expecting them to "give up" so soon, but it's just sad to see these numbers. I just don't understand how they could keep losing money like this (even though I know Dreamworks has the money to keep it going awhile longer).

Shrek has a producing group with deep pockets who will keep the show open through the Tonys and by then the summer tourist crowd will keep it afloat through Labor Day. After that I'd say all bets are off.
