Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 9/13/15

MayAudraBlessYou2 said: "Tony nominations are not in the cards at all. There's PLENTY of options. For new musical: Hamilton, School of Rock, Tuck Everlasting, Allegiance, On Your Feet, American Psycho, Bright Star, Waitress. And possibly Shuffle Along depending on Tony Committee ruling. Add tot hat the five musical revivals which will go up against the new musicals in acting, directing, and design awards, Amazing Grace will be lucky if the title gets a passing mention on the telecast. It's terrible."

In addition to the shows listed above, the show that will cause the Nederlanders to kick AG to the curb may well be a new musical as well.

As an educated guess, would a musical the size of Finding Neverland still be profitable or at least at break even with a $800k weekly profit?

Oh, yes I meant gross, Thanks.

maybe Amazing Grace is waiting until the Christmas period ? They could be hoping for a religious audience boost then?

Yes to your first question. Kinky Boots is still profitable, as far as I know.

Secondly, you do realize that Amazing Grace is still spending money every week, probably upwards of 500k. So it's not like they can just sit around and wait for the audience to come. Money runs out eventually. I don't think the theater owners/landlords will let them do this until Christmas either.
