That's Broadway Under the Stars, on June 26. This is a series of hour long, lunch time concerts in Bryant Park, behind the Library. They're from 12:30 - 1:30.

You have to go to hear it. It's not played on the radio, as it would be too hard to transport all of the equipment. It's hosted by their deejays, though. Valerie Smaldone and such.

If Hot Feet doesn't last until then, will it still perform? I think it's funny how they put them as early as possible.

re: Broadway In Bryant Park Announced

I was thinking the exact same thing mijofly. Hot Feet probably won't last through July 6th.

Will The Wedding Singer last through July 27th?

re: Broadway In Bryant Park Announced

Um, yes? They're doing fantastic business. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a very healthy run now.

re: Broadway In Bryant Park Announced

Yeah....Wedding Singer is far from Shakespeare, but it's a lot of fun.

No Jersey Boys! I'm sad. I'll still go, but I am sad. Those guys are probably pooped though. Though Bway in Bryant Park sometimes has understudies perform, so this could have been a good opportunity for them. I'll still be there.

If things continue the way they've been, WS will last FAR beyond July 27th.

When did they announce that The Actor's Fund Concert was gonna be THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS?

re: Broadway In Bryant Park Announced

What time do you guys suggest getting there to get a good spot near the stage? I am considering going July 13th while I am in town...
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Between 10-11AM?? Are you serious?? You'd fry!! LOL!

I work near Bryant Park and I've gotten there 15 minutes prior to the show starting and I've gotten a good place. Of course over the years it's gotten more crowded, so I'd say a good half an hour before but I think b/w 10-11AM is way too early.

I totally agree WickedRentEder. 30 minutes prior is fine. Also, people set up the chairs / blankets across the lawn and the view from a bit further back can be just as good as sitting right up front.

Geez, why'd they have to tarnis July 27th with Tarzan? I'm still trying to figure out when to go to NYC and for the other three shows that'll be performing that day I've schedule my trip to go through that date, but I don't think I really want to see Tarzan perform...ugh.

re: Broadway In Bryant Park Announced

Google Bryant Park and look for their schedules. They have all the happenings there this summer: movies (on Monday nights), GMA summer concert series & Broadway.

Also, sitting too close to the stage may hurt your ears. The speakers are REALLY loud so hearing the performances won't be a problem no matter where you're at in the lawn. If you like to see the performers, then get a place closer to the stage.
