Unfortunately, the great Mr. Orbach no longer qualifies as a Legend who's "still left."

I think Harvey Fierstein could honestly be considered a Broadway legend. Think about how many Tonys he has and for so many different things...

Patti LuPone could maybe be classified as a Broadway legend...And I think Audra McDonald's tony awards are getting her there although she really isnt old enough yet.

Maybe even Phylicia Rashad...she's a legend at least.

Jerry Orbach, for sure. Chita, Stritch, Lansbury, Barbara Cook, Streisand, Bernadette, Mandy, Patti LuPone, Betty Buckley, Nathan Lane, Carol Channing, Ben Vereen, and I can't believe no one but MargoChanning has mentioned Joel Gray!

There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

That made me cry. So now I'm off to bed sad.

Are we considering living legends the people who are still at the top of their game today or those who left a lasting impression when they WERE at the top of their game? For example, Audrey Hepburn = Legend. Michael Jackson = Someone who would have been a legend during his reign if not for the way he fell from grace afterwards.
