Canadian actor and Broadway neophyte Jonathan Crombie will portray Man in Chair in Drowsy Chaperone from March 20 through April 15. John Glover begins April 17. From now until March 20, understudies Jay Douglas and Patrick Wetzel will play the part.

Crombie has previously played the role of Gangster #2 in the Canadian premieres of the show.

That is the best news EVER! I love Jonathan. He's an amazing actor. I will now go see The Drowsy Chaperone, which I previously had no interest in. What a great acquisition to the show. Break a leg, Jonathan!

Glover may shock a lot of people

He is very good comedically . Since the role does not call for dancing, he should be fine.

I saw his Romeo at the Stratford Festival a few years ago and he was absolutely captivating. Hopefully Broadway will sit up and take notice.

I frankly had never heard of him, so I googled him. What a cutie!!! I will be in NYC this week and have one show slot open Fri. night....Drowsy was on my short list, but this might clinch it.
