AUDRA GYPSY was at one point at least being negotiated between Rudin and Audra's team. He's also not the only producer who thought "hey, Audra Gypsy would be a good idea."Audra Gypsy is a much easier feat of producing than getting someone like Toni Collette or Cate Blanchett or Julie Andrews to commit to 8-12 months on Broadway.

The thing you have to remember is that productions fall apart alllllll the time, for any number of reasons. Someone as prolific as Rudin would have a lot of shows in the hopper, and probably 2/3 of them would never happen.

Just tonight I was speaking with my partner saying that in terms of Sondheim revivals and "ridiculous gay fantasia on international themes" I'd love to see Kate Winslet complete her EGOT in Night Music and the Broadway debut of Gaga in Passion. I'd empty my bank account for both!
