I'm trying to remember: is the Audra Gypsy the only one of those rumored Rudin future projects that has actually come to fruition (by a different team, of course)? All I remember is the Night Music and Mame with Toni Collette.

AUDRA GYPSY was at one point at least being negotiated between Rudin and Audra's team. He's also not the only producer who thought "hey, Audra Gypsy would be a good idea." Audra Gypsy is a much easier feat of producing than getting someone like Toni Collette or Cate Blanchett or Julie Andrews to commit to 8-12 months on Broadway.
The thing you have to remember is that productions fall apart alllllll the time, for any number of reasons. Someone as prolific as Rudin would have a lot of shows in the hopper, and probably 2/3 of them would never happen.
The NIGHT MUSIC rumor has always been a ridiculous gay fantasia on international themes, even when he was an active producer.

Unfortunately they will never be a Mame revival during our current pc times as the title tune glorifies the Jim Crow era South.

Oh bugger off.
The title song is the least of MAME's problems.
That book is awful, the second act is aimless and endless, and it would need a substantial rewrite and a unicorn of a leading lady to have any chance of Broadway success.
You would need a beloved icon like Cher (another name that has occasionally been attached to Rudin's alleged revival instead of Toni Colette in repetitions of the rumor) to make Mame work.
Yes the list of appropriate MAMEs who would also be meaningful enough at the box office is a tiny list.
Waddingham is a name that's thrown around a lot for Mame, but I really don't know how much she would mean beyond a limited run unless her star substantially rises with her post-LASSO work. And any star who'd be great for Vera would probably prefer to play Mame.
But the topic of a MAME revival seems to come up here about once a month.

I haven't heard the John Proctor rumor. Do you mean "John Proctor is the Villain" or "The Good John Proctor"? Also, which other board with whispers are you referring to?

The Rebecca Frecknall production, which starred Paul Mescal in London.
A lot of star-driven works kick around for a while and either never happen or they happen when said star has a 20-week break in their calendar and wantsto make time for Broadway."
Wasn’t this rumored to star Taron Egerton and Meghann Fahy?

I wonder if Cher as a prospect is dead as well. The sad reality is headlining a musical with 80 on the horizon is no easy task. I wonder if even Jennifer Coolidge or Catherine OHara would be too small of name to sell the show. 🤔 Reba?

Is this the same John Proctor as the one in this article:

Wild guess here! I think should be 2026 or 27 season. The 2025 season is as crowded as the 24 season

you mean his Macbeth? (His Hamlet was over 10 years ago.) And I could see that happening, but I don't know he's enough of a name stateside to sell it. Which is a flipping shame. But you pair him with an A-list Lady Mac and I guess I am eating ramen for a few months to afford tickets!

Chess was delayed due to Lea having a baby, which is happening soon so ostensibly, they could come in in the spring if it’s still in the works. I have no idea if Lea will sell a show outside of fulfilling a sort of cultural prophecy in Funny Girl and Florence seems like such a strange next role.
I recall hearing that Lea dropped out of CHESS in favor of a new musical, but now the baby might be putting everything on hold.

This would actually make me happy, as i'd much prefer Lena Hall over Lea in the role

oh I fully assume CHESS is dead now unless they can get a star comparable to Lea for one of the three roles. Otherwise it'll have a TOMMY-like run.

Newbie here so hi.
Chess is still alive. Lea gave an interview to Marc Malkin at the Met Ball 2024 about her still being signed to the same show they chatted about at the 2023 Met Ball and that was Chess.
We don't know whether it will come in 24/25 or 25/26 season but it is coming at this stage from Lea's comments. Also Tim Rice was doing a bit of a "concert" tour in the UK earlier this year, chatting about his career in between people singing his songs and apparently he said in April that Chess was returning to Broadway next year so according to Lea & Tim it's happening.
Seeing as Ramin (who was Michael Maher's favoured Anatoly since the first concert series of this version back in 2018 and again in NYC in 2022 and especially since he and Lea had such fabulous chemistry in Funny Girl) is doing Pirates of Penzance from April to June 2025 he won't be available if they come in for this season before April so maybe they will hold it if he is still interested or they will need to find a new Anatoly which won't be easy. Just not Josh Groban, please. Great voice but wooden and had zero chemistry with Lea's fictional mother Idina when they did it in London in 2008.
So we'll see which season it comes in but at this stage, still happening from those who know more than we do.

Fred Lassen is taking over Sunset Blvd after opening. Alan Williams, who did it in London, is only getting it going and then he leaves.

Lena Hall said on tiktok in the comments on someone else posting about Chess a few months ago that she only did the Chess concert in 2022 because Lea was not available. Lea was apparently booked to do it but had to drop out. I assume this means Michael Maher asked her to do it in early 2022 (with a view to her doing it as her return to Broadway) before she was asked to do Funny Girl and then by December she didn't have time to do the concert in addition to FG. I know Ramin did the concert, but his work load on FG wasn't as heavy as Lea's.
