I happened to be watching Addams Family Values a couple days ago and found Nathan Lane playing a cop in it. I was amused.

Sara Ramirez had a part in the first Spiderman. Matthew Broderick and Roger Bart were in the Stepford Wives. Alan Ruck and Matthew Broderick were in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Hank Azaria did America's Sweetharts, The Birdcage ,etc. Richard Kind had a cameo in Bewitched. Tim Curry is the voice of an evil nazi pigeon in Valiant. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were in the X-men movies. John Lithgow was in Shrek, and this war movie Memphis Belle. Alan Cumming in Son of the mask and X-2. That's all I can think of now.

There's a cute little independent film that was just released on DVD titled DAVID SEARCHING that has a lot of theatre people in it. Including Anthony Rapp (playing an aspiring film maker ala like in RENT), Julie Halston, Michael Rupert, John Cameron Mitchell, David Drake, Stephen Spinella, Kathleen Chalfant and La Chanze to just name a few. Here's a link to it on Amazon where you can usually find used copies...

re: Broadway Stars in Movies

I think Idina sang for the TV show spinoff of the cartoon Hercules. Because I don't remember anything of hers in that movie. And Anthony Rapp has alot of movie credits and I recently saw him on Law and Order: SVU I think. As someone else said, if you go to IMDb you'll find that most broadway actors/actresses have some TV/film credits.

re: Broadway Stars in Movies

Why are you guys segregating performers as being *just* Broadway actors or *just* being movie actors? Actors are actors and they're free to work in whatever medium they choose whether it be television, stage or screen. That's the wonderful thing about being an actor, you don't have to be pigeonholed into doing just one.

It really is no big deal.
