It seems to be that every movie I watch lately (well, not necessarily lately), there is someone I recognize from a Broadway show...
Cherry Jones - The Village
Adam Pascal - School of Rock
Colm Feore - Chicago
Donna Murphy - Center Stage
Susan Egan - 13 Going on 30
and many, many others. What other people have you guys seen?

Before he reprises his Wolverine role again, Hugh is actually filming a new Woody Allen movie in London at present - with Woody, Scarlett Johansson, and Ian McShane as co-stars.
He is on the A-list for both the movies and the stage.

Marci X: movie made in 2003
Marci, a spoiled Jewish American Princess, is forced to take control of her father's hard-core rap label, Felony Assault, when her mogul dad, Ben Feld, has a stress-induced heart attack due to the controversy surrounding the label's hip-hop song Shoot Ya' Teacha by Dr. Snatchcatcher. To rescue her father's plummeting stock, Marci attempts to tone down the rapper's bad-boy edge. Over time, the unlikely pair fall in love just as a conservative senator vows to banish the rapper and his offensive lyrics from the airwaves forever.

Posted: 7/3/05 at 9:47pmOpening this thread, I would think that people are surprised to see B'way stars in film, as if it were uncommon. Look up your fave star on imdb, and you'll find 99% of the time, they were in a film or two...

Like, EVERYONE is in Marci X. There's a thread about that movie, being that so many people were in it.
Manley Pope was also in Marci X. That movie did so bad, but I love it .. sheerly for Boyz R Us(Matthew and Manley) and Sherie. It's so great.

Yes, I do have to say, often times I am surprised to see them... but happily!
I will have to see Marci X.
And I just remembered that Idina is in Kissing Jessica Stein... she has one line... "Are you the lesbian?" Greatness...

Cherry Jones also has a significant part in Cradle Will Rock.. Interesting but flawed film. Stephen Spinella has a cameo, as does Audra McDonald's singing voice. I think there were a bunch of Broadway people in the chorus as well.
Brian O'Byrne was the priest in Million Dollar Baby. Meaning that his three most visible recent roles are 1) A pedophile (Frozen), 2) A priest (Million Dollar Baby) 3) A priest accused of being a pedophile (Doubt). I think he needs to try something really different about now.
It has been said many times but I'll say it again here that Marissa Jaret Winokur was Lester's co-worker at Mr. Smiley's in American Beauty.

Posted: 7/3/05 at 11:22pmAre some you forgetting Donna Murphy had a role in Spiderman 2? You've been naming all the other movies she's been in. It wasn't just a cameo either in SM2. She had a nice amount of lines, not a lot of film time, but she was good.
