re: Broadway Stars whose singing voice or voice was used in a Disney Film

The granddaddy of them all. The first big star Disney hired.
Cliff "Ukelele Ike" Edwards, star of "Lady Be Good" with the Astaires and "The Ziegfeld Follies" (he was basically the Harvey F. of his day) was the voice of Jimney Cricket.

Not a movie or Disney..but don't forget Bernadette Peters as Rita the cat on Animaniacs.

this movie really sucked and was a travesty to The King and I, but in the animated 1999 version, Christiane Noll did the singing voice for Anna and Martin Vidnovic as the King....

again, can I say how much this movie sucked?! but at least the singing in the music was good.

i dont think this has been mentioned, but Harvey Fierstein was the short and fat soldier guy, like Yao or something, in MULAN

"It's incredible how many of us first heard these great stars when we were kids and didn't even realize who they were then!"

i know, i watched all of these movies as a kid, and it is so cool to finally notice which broadway people i know are doing voices of these characters!

Adding to Anastasia, Jonathan Dokuchitz (Who played Captain Walker on the Tommy OBCR) voiced Dmitri.

Raul Esparza.....The Prince of Eygpt

I think I'm gonna go with no on that one, 'cause IMDB doesn't list him on its page for the film, it's not on Raúl's IMDB profile, nor anywhere on his website, and they have pretty much all of his professional information for the taking.

Someone who knows better, please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's like, straight out of left field.

Mulan 2 (ugh I know) - Donny Osmond, Lea Salonga, and Judy Kuhn was one of the princesses
The Swan Princess 2 - Douglas Sills was the singing voice for Derek
Aladdin - Brad Kane was in the revival of She Loves Me (dunno how good he was but hey)
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Lea Salonga:

1. Aladdin - Jasmine's singing voice
2. Mulan - Mulan's singing voice
3. Mulan II - Mulan's singing voice

Also not Disney, but --- Judy Garland as a cat in "Gay Purr-ree"

I saw that once on Cartoon Network when I was 5 and I could never remember the name of it until now! I know she played a character named Musette...

How I remember that movie, I have no idea.

I LOVE Fern Gully! Christian Slater was in it, too. Pips, the male lead fairy. And he counts as a Broadway star after THE GLASS MENAGERIE.

This is not Broadway at all, but this thread reminds me of the time my friends and I went to a lounge for my roommate's birthday and the band brought a special guest onstage - the singing voice of Sebastian from The Little Mermaid. He sang "Under the Sea." Greatest moment of my life.
