trpguyy, that was weird. And definitely the gayest tattoo I've ever seen.
yarn, seriously, don't get a tattoo the day you turn 18 if it's next week. Make your final decision about what you want and wait about a month. The place I got mine done recommending drawing the tattoo onto yourself with markers just to see if you really can deal with it's design and location all the time. Then it won't be so much on a whim and you'll have an idea about what you'll be dealing with for the rest of your life.
luvliza, maybe I'm weird, but it really didn't hurt when I got mine. It was just like a slightly irritating buzzing against the skin, and mine was right on my hip bone, where there wasn't any fat. I'm terrified of needles usually, but I was fine.

Where you get the tatoo depends on the amount of pain. The one on the top of my foot hurt worse than the one on my lower back and butt. It does hurt, but it's not unbearable. It's more annoying than anything and usually once you get one, you want more. So be careful.
I have 4 and I made sure that I wouldn't be embaressed by them when I was like 60 with Grandchildren asking me about them. I think one of mine was a dumb young thing but I know I have to live with it. Go get a henna tatoo that stays on for a couple weeks and see if you like it. Then decide.

If you want something really really gay get the Gypsy logo on your arm and put a heart with "Mama rose" in it.
Or you could get a muriel of barbra streisand across your chest.
Or you could get a tony on your arm that says "Sorry Girls I love broadway"
haha this is fun

Hey there. I'm a huge Broadway fan myself and I went with the
comedy/tragedy masks on my neck.
I couldn't pick just one show - too many I like so I went for
a great representation of the theatre. Everyone who sees it
thinks it's great!

I once saw a man who's legs and arms were covered in show tattoos. He wasnt even gay! (well i dont think so) He was in an industry office and i assumed he worked on the shows he had tattoos of. When I saw a tattoo of the Ragtime logo, i thought that was a bit far.
I never wanted a tattoo until I saw hedwig and when I saw the origin of love faces, I knew I had to get it as a tattoo. So I proudly support my Hedwig Tattoo with Pride.

What about the Liberty Torch image from "Ragtime" It isn't just Broadway, but it can be mistaken for being Patriotic!
I have a tattoo (non-Broadway related) and I don't understand the pain factor people talk about. Honestly it didn't feel painful to me. It felt more like an annoyance... like a bee sting you cannot stratch. Pain wasn't a factor (though I will admit I didn't have it done on bone - which is a completely different kettle of fish).
I have seriously thought of getting the Miss Siagon Copter-Eye logo or the Cosette logo in the past done, but the idea never took. (My deal is I choose a design and if I still want it 6 months later - I will get it - I also really suggest it - choose something, then wait a set period of time before getting it).

" I really want to get the tattoo from Hedwig, but I'm so afraid of the needle. Does it hurt that much? I mean the tattoo wouldn't be that large."
If it's small, it shouldn't be too bad. To me it just felt like getting bitten by lots of mosquitoes...
It would also depend on where you're having it done -- some spots are more painful than others. I was warned that the spot I picked can be quite painful, but I really didn't think it was bad at all. I guess if you're tense/nervous it'll also hurt more...
Give yourself plenty of time to think about it. A friend of mine had to go in *three* times (yes, three) to get hers removed, and even then, if you look closely you can still see the outline. I like mine, but I waited almost a year between deciding on the design I wanted and finally having it done. It's tasteful, discreet, and most of the time I don't remember it's there, so I doubt I'll get sick of it even at 50

Posted: 7/6/05 at 3:09pmI urge you - if you are thinking of getting a lyric from a song, wait, then wait again, and then wait some more. Don't pick a lyric from a flavor-of-the-month show.

Mimi, I've seen that man as well... I pass him on the street all the time. I'm quite fascinated by all the logos he has tattooed on himself.
I dont have a tattoo as of yet, but I have been toying with a few ideas over the years. The place has always stayed the same, but the tattoo itself has always changed. I've yet to decide what I really want there for the rest of my life.

to the person who was thinking about getting the tattoo, its a really quick mostly painless tattoo... It will be over in 30 minutes.
I still wonder where that logo tattoo guy is from.
