I have a tattoo of Merman's mouth on my stomach

with my belly button strategically placed as the uvula

One of my friend got a tattoo that was the Altar Boyz logo and above it it said,"And that's when I became interested in space travel." Very, very funny. That's some major Tyler love right there.

I've always wanted to get the quote, "On a Clear Day..." below my belly button, but that seems like such a painful area... I mean I'm diabetic, I deal with lots of needles, but that just seems like a nightmare!

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

I also wonder about how much it hurts to get a tattoo on the inside of your wrist, as previously questioned. Anyone with experience?

I would imagine the inside of your wrist might be painful and I imagine you'd also bleed quite a bit more than being tattooed in other places. My tattoo is on my inner arm, it doesn't start until 2 or 3 inches up from my wrist. That didn't hurt, but the nearer it got to my inner elbow, the more it hurt.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

My advise: Of course, make it meaningful, and something you have always liked up to the moment you get it. Do not go with a trend, or something you 'suddenly' discovered. I thought about my tattoo for a year, drew my own design...picked a place to put it...waited another year to make sure, and now I love my tattoo. Of course most people do not have the patience to think it out like I did, but it's worth it, because it's really telling of how much you like the design and the idea of it and placement. What's 1 or so years in comparison with the fact it will be with you your whole life? I got it on the inside of my ankle, I rarely show it, because I got it for me and nobody else, and it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. For me, it was like having a sunburn, and somebody was taking their fingernail and scratching you ever so slightly...more burning and irritating than real pain.
So, I believe you should get something that represents your homosexuality, because that's something that won't change over the next 50 years...but a specific love for a specific show or musical might. Also, comedy/tragedy masks are a general reprsentation of a love you have that probably won't change. I have a friend who has the Chinese character for 'Actor' on the back of his calf, which looks really cool. Though I like the rainbow filled masks or possibly a heart...something like that, remember that could mean many touch ups, sun fade, and withering looks through time. One time investment tattoos are ones that stick to a solid dark color and are generally in a place that does not receive much sun, as they last longer.
Have fun with whatever you choose, and make it about you, and who you are, not what you like right now at this moment. Remember what Avenue Q says..."Everything in life is only for now."

I have a friend who has the Egyptian-eye thing from AIDA as a tattoo on his back. It's actually kinda neat... re: Broadway Tattoos

you know what, get whatever tattoo you want to get! whatever will make you happy you're only young once right? and about the pain, I think the few hours after the tattoo hurt more than actually getting it done
