Well, we had a great broadway evening tonight. We got the boys and our aunt into the Hairspray Lottery, they were front row center and their tough guy teenage exteriors melted away by the magic of the show. They couldn't stop talking about it, the costumes, the staging, everything. They seemed to get a big kick out of it.

My bf and I went to see A Chorus Line, which brought back tearful memories of my tenure as Bobby and I enjoyed it immensely. The show is electrifying and incredibly touching. I remember seeing it as a very young boy with my mom before the Original production closed, this was just as amazing. I was truly taken by it again. Michael Berresse is incredible, as is Charlotte D'amboise. Everyone was wonderful and the dancing was amazing. The alternatives scene just really got to me, as a person who recently turned 30, a number with a great deal of significance in that show.

Tomorrow it's off to see Ave. Q, which should be a treat for everyone. How bad are the sightlines from the last row?

Glad you had such a good time. And THANK YOU for taking your nephews to Brodway! Introducing young people to Broadway is SO incredibly important. Kudos.

I introduced my niece and nephew to Broadway theatre when they were both 5 years old. Her first show was the original Broadway production of JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY and his was THE WHO's TOMMY.

She's now 23 and she's introduced her fiance' to Broadway (he loves it) and my nephew introduced Broadway to his girlfriend (she loves it).

I'm responsible for a 'new' generation of Broadway attendees. re: Broadway Weekend with the Nephews - Part 1...if anyone cares (Hairspray

My Philadelphia aunt introduced me to musical theatre by taking me to FLAHOOLEY with Barbara Cook in its pre-Broadway try-out back in 1951. That got me hooked. In Philadelphia I also saw the previews of PLAIN AND FANCY(also with Barbara Cook), the flop SARATOGA with Carol Lawrence, and THE GIRL WHO CAME TO SUPPER with an amazingly wonderful Florence Henderson.

My Baltimore aunt took me to my first Broadway Show, 1954's PETER PAN with Mary Martin, at the Winter Garden.

Thank God for aunts and uncles for the influence they can have on their nephews and nieces. As an uncle, I took my niece to CRAZY FOR YOU and A CHORUS LINE when Donna McKechnie was back in it towards the end of its run. She and I loved both shows. She now sees shows in Denver, near where she lives.
