I'm just curious if any one knows roughly how much percentage a composer takes on their show and how much they would make from the final amount made on the end of the week.
It would be helpful if anybody knew the figures for both Broadway and Off-Broadway if they are different.
Writers typically get a share of the shows weekly profit or a guaranteed amount of money weekly if a show doesn't make enough. Composers split that with the book writer and lyricist.
There are agents, lawyers, and sometimes publishers involved, so all this stuff is negotiable, of course.
