I want my Les Miz! And I don't want my London CD...it's slow, even though the some of the cast is pretty good.

What a great season! I live a few hours away from Boston so it's great for me. Also Wicked and Les Miz are playing during my school vactions so I could go see them.

yay! I get to see Hairspray again!!! I shall surely see les Mis, Joseph (curious about Amy Adams), Wicked (I hope Stephanie will still be in it)...and possibly Little Women. I can't *not* see theatre that's sitting on my doorstep.
anyone know anything about Tuesdays with Morrie as a stage play?
and any opinions on the re-interpretation of Swan Lake? As I recall it had mixed reviews...but I wasn't paying much attention at the time...
For Boston residents: I read somewhere that students can always get $25 to Broadway in Boston shows...is that true?
Thanks for posting! so glad I moved to Boston...we get great tours *plus* close to NYC. *swoons*

Finally.
Looks like a decent lineup to me. However, last season's was bigger... I'm holding out hope that DRS is added (the tour starts in November, right?)!
musicnmath - yes, there is a great Student Rush policy for Broadway in Boston. http://broadwayinboston.com/studentrush.html (it'll be updated as the season's first show approaches)
YA they have student rush, http://broadwayinboston.com/studentrush.html They will have rush for most all shows. They did last season. And they arnt bad seats either. But u can always do the bostix, half price booth in quiency market
...your in boston you have to see little women

Thanks for the info on rush! I did manage to see Sweet Charity for $25...that made me happy.
Blu Cat - you make a compelling argument. I probably shall.

I'm 99% sure DRS does not tour until 06-07, same with the majority of the Broadway shows that opened up this past season. It's on my wishlist to book.
Are any Bostonians surprised that Little Women is playing the Opera House? I mean, the place is twice the size of the Gershwin in Broadway. Gonna get lost in there no?
This season looks very exciting. It's weird though...only 2 theatres are being used. The Wang Theatre and the Wilbur Theatre seem to no longer be affiliated with Bway in Boston? I went on the Wang theatre website and they only had a few productions listed up until February. However, they weren't tours--mostly one-night-only concerts or events. I saw RENT there last June and it was great, however I was literally (LITERALLY) sitting in the LAST row of seats on the top balcony. I was resting my head against the spot-booth that was directly behind me. The theatre was way too big for a small/intimate show like that.

the opera house is smaller than the wang. the colonial would probably be ideal for little women, but they probably got the bigger opera house because it's the "new" theatre in town and that show will definitely sell out here..
YOU are telling ME how the opera house compares to the wang???? Everything you just posted, I know. My question was WHY does the wang not have any shows through bway in boston this year. It looks like the wang is going to have a baaaddd year. Very few shows, and what shows they are housing are very small. They shouldn't have let the nutracker go either. The new show they are bringing in instead looks tacky.

the wang has been weaning off of broadway in boston (mutually) since it was announced that the opera house would be reopened. broadway in boston decided to go more with the opera house and came to an agreement with the wang. the opera house i believe is 1/3 smaller than the wang.
also, i was answering princeton's question, not arguing with you at all. i saw rent in the wang just like you. not arguing at all. my mom has now seen phantom in both the wang (twice) and the opera house (once)... i've only seen it in the wang. she said it worked much better in the opera house. i saw lion king in the opera house and the site worked great. i've seen a lot at the wang too, but the opera house is a gorgeous theatre. it was nothing against you.
does anyone know when Hairspray is set to play there... actual dates? I checked the site and it hasn't been updated with that yet

Little Wing -- If you download the .pdf, you'll have all the dates. Hairspray is Oct. 4-16, 2005. I will be there!
GOD! Now I REALLY can't wait to start college....
You have a really great season. What I love about living in Michigan is that there are tons of theatres that house touring and regional shows. We get a pretty large variety of shows each year.
music, thanks... i couldn't get that site to work. I'll be there, too! FINALLY get to see keala!

The WIlbur isn't a bad place to see a show
I like the Colonial more than the Wang.
Interesting lineup.
Yay for Movin Out returning.
