ROA happens to be on a day when I have been thinking of coming back to NYC anyway. Maybe it's a sign.

I just checked the Broadway League and the schedule ends the 16th of July from what I could tell.

I've been going since 2002. Last year, I went every single week. At any rate, the 8:30 time is for shows that are "big" and shows that draw a lot of crazed teeny/tweeny boppers. SPRING AWAKENING was one of those shows. WICKED is also one of those shows. And I'm sure next to normal will be. To be safe (and to get the best seats in the "house"), the latest I got there last year was 9:00/9:30 a.m. But that's just me.

Another issue is those evil Bank of America people who "reserve" seats for their "guests" by 10:30 a.m., and they take up the entire front section. If you're able to get a seat near the front right before it begins or shortly after, more power to you. But I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially with all the obstacles. He he.

:)

And yes, the softball league does indeed play on Thursdays. I remember going to one or two games after Bryant Park last year and the year before.

People really get there that early??? I hope I can make it for the 23rd. I don't think I can get there earlier than 11.

You're all being far too over dramatic. The place doesn't fill up until at least noon.

The two times I went I got there around 10:45/11ish and was in the front and second row. I killed time by talking with my sister (whom I dragged along and she wound up loving it) and watching the sound check. I also chatted with a few performers some of the time who happened to be standing next to me... Autumn Hurlbert, Aaron Tveit, Kerry Ellis... all very friendly. Jason Robert Brown was also sitting right by me one time!

I dont think that the "N2N" fans- (myself included) will be as bad as the "Wicked" and/or "SA" fans...

Seems to attract a slighter older crowd.

The Wicked fans weren't that crazy last year, Kerry had to wake the audience up with her from stage conversation to the audience and crazy riffs :]

BlueforBroadway: You should be fine if you get there for 11.

I thought the front row was mostly people from the radio station.

I have never attended and plan on attending the 9 To 5, etc. (July 16) performance. Allow me to ask what some may consider dumb questions...but here goes. Do they perform in their costumes from the show or street clothes? And is picture taking allowed? Thanks for the response.

ArtMan: Some people perform in regular clothes, but a lot of times people perform in the show T-shirts.

Well, there are a handful of "older" next to normal fans (myself included), but a number of them are those little tweeny and teeny boppers (if you are indeed a tweeny or teeny bopper and are offended by these statements, I apologize). Some times these fangirls and fanboys are decent, but many times they are insane and ridiculous.

Nevertheless, I am extremely excited and will be getting to Bryant Park by 8:30/9:00 a.m. for most of the shows. Some days, it'll be 8:00 a.m. for me! I'm crazy like that - and would much rather be safe than sorry.

Now, let's just hope we don't have any rain cancellations or postponements! They always ruin things!

I'm here now. I didn't have much to do so I came and got a good seat. I'm in the front and there is practically no one here. I think not o the people here don't know what they are waiting for. I'm only here for ITH and Q.

I went to this a few years back and then again today. Seems much more popular now than the last time I saw it. Lawn was packed. I had a really hard time hearing though and heard other people complain it as well. Do you think it was because it was the first time doing it this year, or it will be like this every week?

My friends and I got there at 9:00 a.m. and we were the first ones there. I love watching the soundchecks, which are always entertaining (especially this year's AVENUE Q soundcheck!). And, to be sure I get a good spot (right up front, as always) and avoid the teeny boppers (no offense to the good teeny boppers out there) and creepy old people who attend every single free performance in Manhattan (again, no offense to non-creepy old people), I always try to get there by 9:00 or so. Plus, it's all about the fun of the experience.

I guess I could post a comprehensive review once I get my thoughts together.
