For those of you who want to know what happened in Bryant Park today:
Brooklyn: Once Upon a Time (Eden Espinosa), Heart Behind These Hands (Horace Rogers), Raven (Ramona Keller), Street Singer (whole cast).
Donkey Show: Nightlife, Car Wash, We Are Family (and maybe one more I forget)
BARE: Are you there? (Michael Arden and Aaron Lore), Portrait of a Girl (Jenna Leigh Green, Aaron Lore), A Quiet Night at Home (Natalie Joy Johnson), One (Adam Flemming and all of above mentioned).
Rent: Take Me or Leave Me (Kelly, Meryll), I'll Cover You, What You Own, Seasons of Love.
Hair: Black Boys, Easy to be Hard (Julia Murney), Aquarius (Darius DeHaas and cast).

Overall, I thought the show was very good. I loved how the cast of Brooklyn threw out t-shirts to the crowd at the end of their set, and that BARE gave out free sample CDs. Eden E continues to be awesome and I can't wait to see the show. I was a little shocked at the Donkey Show lack of clothing, thought it might be toned down for the park but not so much. Little Kim would envy those pasties. Rent was good except for Drew Lachey, no more boy bands stars on Broadway please!
And I don't know why there were so many random (and possibly drunk) old men dancing through the crowd... Still fun to watch, looking forward to Broadway on Broadway in September!

BKLYN: Holy cow, this show is going to be amazing! It's hard for me to grasp a show through its music before I see the whole thing laid out, but boy, can Eden sing! (Not a surprise). "Once Upon A Time" is an amazing song, and I liked "Heart Behind These Hands" a lot, as well. I think that "Street Singers" probably works well withink the book of the show, but I was a little lost. Didn't care for "Raven" at all; the lyrics are, at first glance, cliche, but it was powerfully sung. HUGE Eden crowd.

BARE: Oh, I love this show re: Broadway in Bryant Park 8/19 review I bumped into Michael Arden as I got to the park; how cute is the blonde dye? Anyway, "Are You There?" sounded great; lyrics at their best! (Steve's friend Damon is the lyricist) "Portrait of a Girl" and "A Quiet Night At Home" are still running through my head. Jenna and Natalie are both fabulous singers, and great presences on stage. They finished with the Act One finale, which I think is called "This Moment"? (I've only seen the show once, don't have a playbill handy) BIG response from the crowd.

RENT: Hell yeah. Very pleased to see Colin, Kelly, Merle, Justin and Destan! :) Colin's going on TONIGHT as Roger. Must. win. lotto. TMOLM rocked. Kelly's so tiny! ICY was amazing; Justin and Destan are a cute combination. Drew and Colin sang WYO. Um, um. Colin's great re: Broadway in Bryant Park 8/19 review Not knocking Drew before I see his whole performance. His singing is fine, but wow, I just don't believe that hunk of man is Mark Cohen. Cuz, no.

BKLYN-Eden continues to amaze me. This is going to be an amazing show.
Bare-I liked it. I thought it was really good. Jennifer Leigh Green has a great voice and I didn't expect that.
Rent-I thought they were good, except for Maureen. She was okay, but seemed a little too quiet.
Hair-This isn't my favorite musical but they were good.

Today was great. Not to sure what i thought about "The Donkey Show". Still processing that.Drew Lachey in RENT - he has a good voice. NOT a Mark though. He was too "boy band" for Mark. Just my 2 cents, not going to dwell on it. Brooklyn sounded good - interested in seeing that show. The show I was most impressed with was Bare, there performances made me want to run and get tickets right away.

You know, I hated how the announcer didn't know Colin's last night. "Here's Drew Lachey...and...COLIN!" and he did it again when they finished singing.

I would have liked it if Bare did "You and I"...glad they did "One", though. Michael Arden is just heartwrenching and adorable and wonderful no matter what he does...

In the audience was the adorable and incredibly talented Tyrone Giordano...I was excited to see him!

Undiscovered, thanks so much for the Bare pictures. Michael is just so great. The rest of the cast was wondeful as well of course. re: Broadway in Bryant Park 8/19 review

I met Drew before his performance with Colin and thought he was so nice. I'm very curious to see how his Mark will be.

I'm still trying to process the Donkey Show performance as is, I'm sure, the three year old boy that was sitting in the front row! O_O

I saw all of the Brooklyn performance, and I was impressed. The entire ensemble really delivered. And hey - I agree - what was with those drunk old men in Bryant Park? One guy I saw was completely housed during the last couple of sound checks! He lost it when they did Age of Aquarius! God bless-em!

I have a question during "The Donkey Show" was like the girl topless because thats what it seemed like from one of the pictures I've seen although her arm was covering her so I wasn't sure. I assumed that they would have toned that down considering it was being done at a park.. lol
