Am I missing something? Wouldn't the initials for Broadway World simply be BW? What is BWW? I thought it was the German auto maker at first. Do Broadway World creators think "Broadway" is two words? Like "Broad way?" Can someone explain this? This just can't be, can it?
To me, I think of it as BW=Broadway. BWW=Broadway World
well "Broadway" collapses what was originally two words, each with its own meaning. And of course as a single word it has two syllables. And of course acronyms are not subject to any rules.
Maybe solve world hunger first and then get back to us.

That's not grammar.
For the OP: The abbreviation is phonetic more than anything, IMO. And "BW" is too ambiguous.

Yes, that's true. It's orthography, of course. But I think you might have missed my joke. :)
It's so you can pronounce it "Bow-Wow-Wow" in a pinch; no shorter than Broadway World, but psychologically it feels much more compact.
