Broadway on Broadway
Broadway on Broadway#0
Posted: 8/8/04 at 6:18pmI cannot believe that Christy Carlson Romano and Wayne Brady are hosting this year! It really annoys me! I know that CCR is in BATB but the only reason they got her was because shes on the disney channel and they wanted to make more money! Plus, what do wayne Brady have to do with he theatre? I love Broadway, but people keep messing it up! Shows now have tv and movie stars instead of traditional theatre performers!!!! Plus when they get tv and movie actors it makes it harder for a theatre performer to get work! Its really upsetting! I can only imagine whos gonna host next year? Paris Hilton and Justin Timberlake?

Posted: 8/8/04 at 6:23pmActually I heard it was going to be Nicky Hilton and Michael Jackson next year. Not sure if that's true though.
re: Broadway on Broadway#2
Posted: 8/8/04 at 6:31pmI'm gonna assume you're joking because with the way Broadway is going, you never know! :)
re: Broadway on Broadway#3
Posted: 8/8/04 at 6:32pmWayne Brady is taking over Billy Flynn in Chicago later this month, thats why they got him.
re: Broadway on Broadway#4
Posted: 8/8/04 at 6:42pmI know that you're right, but before that what does he have to do with the theatre, has he done any theatre? Been in shows? Has he had singing lessons, its just upsetting, because actual theatre performers belong on the stage. Not TV and Movie stars, if you can even call CCR and Wayne Brady stars.

Posted: 8/8/04 at 6:57pmWayne Brady has performed in quite a few musicals. Don't get so upset without knowing the facts.
re: Broadway on Broadway#7
Posted: 8/8/04 at 7:27pmWayne Brady is also going to be Billy Flynn starting September. That's probably why he's going to be hosting.
re: Broadway on Broadway#8
Posted: 8/8/04 at 7:31pmI'm just upset because some people don't belong on B'way.

I want details!!
re: Broadway on Broadway#10
Posted: 8/8/04 at 7:40pmI think Wayne Brady will be very good. He has a very good voice and even though Ive never seen him in a show, I would imagine he has good stage presence.

Wayne Brady went to my high school. He was in the theatre magnet program and comes back a lot. He's a really nice guy with a lot of talent just a burst-in within him. He IS a theatre performer. I think he was Curly in the high school production of Oklahoma. And do you SEE what he can do on Who's Line...? He's, at times, astounding. CCR...well, I don't like her, personally. Unfortunately, she's what is going to make a lot of people go to BonB. I agree with Rathnait, don't get so upset until you know the facts.
re: Broadway on Broadway#17
Posted: 8/8/04 at 7:52pmI don't need someone telling me not too get upset, even if he has done theatre, in no way is he affiliated with the theatre.
re: Broadway on Broadway#18
Posted: 8/8/04 at 7:55pmi think you're confusing yourself.

"...even if he has done theatre, in no way is he affiliated with the theatre."
Huh?
re: Broadway on Broadway#20
Posted: 8/8/04 at 8:01pmEven if he has done theatre work in high school, that doens't make him a broadway star all of a sudden.
re: Broadway on Broadway#21
Posted: 8/8/04 at 8:03pmJust because someone's not a star doesn't mean they shouldn't do these kinds of things. I'd rather see the hard working understudies and swings, myself. However, he is taking over as Billy Flynn and that qualifies as a Broadway role, however you try to look at it.
re: Broadway on Broadway#22
Posted: 8/8/04 at 8:05pmI am just saying that he was on TV and now hes coming to Broadway so he is taking over a part that someone from Broadway could have had.

Also, what I meant when I said "even if he has done theatre, in no way is he affiliated with the theatre." was when I think of Broadway I don't affiliate it with Wayne Brady.
