Patash, just re-looked at the scene. You're right. He does actually walk back into the St James. But he does the impossible, and he does turn west onto 45th, but they do a very seamless edit, where he ends up walking east on 44th to enter the St James. So he travels a street and an avenue in a split second. The Magic of film.

He was originally on 46th though. When he turns into Times Square, he walks by the old Marquis marquee that was on the Broadway side.
