Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Benjamin Howes, Ben Nordstrom and Amy Justman will put their heads and voices together to create a new musical in the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis production of [title of show].
Jeff Bowen penned the score to the cult favorite, which chronicles the efforts of four friends to write and star in a new musical under ever-approaching deadlines. Book and lyrics are by Tony nominee Hunter Bell (nominated for Best Book of a Musical for [title of show]).
Victoria Bussert directs the regional staging that runs Jan. 13-31, 2010. Opening is Jan. 15, 2010. It will play the Rep's intimate studio space, below its mainstage in the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts at 130 Edgar Road in Webster Groves, MO.
The cast features D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) as Susan, with Howes (original Broadway [tos] standby) as Jeff, Nordstrom (Rep's Guys and Dolls) as Hunter and Justman (White Christmas) as Heidi.
David Horstman serves as musical director on the production that has scenic design by Scott C. Neal, costume design by Betsy Karusnick, lighting design by John Wylie and sound design by Rusty Wandall.
