Our mission is to reach out to youth in nations emerging from conflict or isolation with professional level training in music, dance and theater with a focus on those genres unique to the American experience, Jazz, Broadway and Hip Hop as well as classical art forms such as string orchestra, piano, voice and ballet.

In addition, we provide intensive teacher training and donate music scores, methods, instruments and dance and theater supplies to all our project partners.

After the success of our April 2010 and October 2009 YES Academy programs, we are back with a an expanded program of Jazz, Broadway Musicals, Hip Hop Dance, Piano, Chamber Music and String Orchestra!

Plus, we are going even more international with participants from ever more countries: Nepal, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Pakistan.

Your YES Academy teachers are recruited from America’s finest Universities and Institution: St Louis Symphony Orchestra, HaviKoro Breakdancers, Theater Under the Stars of Houston. University of Northern Colorado and Eastern Carolina University. We are pleased to partner with Rangsit University and to continue to build artistic bridges between the United States and Thailand and the rest of Asia.

Very Nice! I spent lots of time in Thailand when I lived in South East Asia...when I missed home I would spend a weekend in Bangkok. Just a heads up....don't even attempt to stage a production of "The King and I" it is forbidden in Thailand. They did a production of it in Singapore and in the Playbill it even stated this. Any tour guide is happy to share this information with you if asked. YES, I asked when I was at the Palace and saw a picture of the King the show is based on.

Yeah.. I've been here in Bangkok for almost 3 years now so I know that deal.
At first I was shocked because why wouldn't they want to embrace one of the most beautiful love stories ever put to music??
But after being in the country for a while, you start to begin to understand the relationship between the Thai people and their King. The musical shows the King in moments of weakness. This is not simply a case of censorship as it would appear on the surface, but the Thai people truly love their King and they simply just don't want to see this.
Once you understand the culture.. it makes sense.
You can still find bootleg copies of the movie (both the musical and the awful Jodi Foster drama) on the street all over Bangkok.
