Did anyone see this today? I thought it was ok. I need to rewatch it without them asking for money every 5 minutes. Any idea when this is going to be out on DVD?
Thanks

If it hasn't aired in your area yet, I definately reccomend it. Especially for those of you who aren't familiar with Broadway before Rent or Wicked.
Ah! I forgot about it. They usually air these things more than once though.
Edit: Just saw the commercial. It is going to air tomorrow (Monday) at 8 pm.
They interupted basically three times to ask for money and it wasn't that bad because, during each they interviewed Brian Stokes Mitchell, Bebe Neuwirth(sp?), and Jerry Orbach.

Michael Jeter in Grand Hotel was amazing!
Patti LuPone has the worst diction on earth - no consonants - can't understand a word she sings:
"Nahhh-bahh-dehh-well-ahh-pahhs" = "Nobody will oppose"
There's a very funny spoof of Ms. Lupone's diction in "Anything Goes" on one of the Forbidden Broadway CDs.
I loved that one!
In olden days this show was shocking cuz Merman would keep them rocking but now they phone...PATTI LuPONE!
And so as I aalanlalanalalalnalalanrackatatkalackrackattack just like Eva Peron!
[cue the bad tap]
Love that one
I hate the PBS Site. I found the Treasures section, and my local PBS station section, but no way to "search" the listings!
Go to your local pbs station site, Capn. You'll find it there.
**** I can't believe I missed this....I made a mental note and everything lol!

I missed it. Ill have to look for when it is playing next
Just a gentle reminder for those of you who haven't had it air in your area yet. I am watching it on tape now. (On La Cage aux Folles now)I am going to try to buy both dvds. Set your vcrs!
I really liked it. I thought it was even better than the first one. The number from Grand Hotel with Michael Jeter, gave me chills, just like it did during it's original broadcast. I forgot what a fun show, "Anything Goes" was. I noticed there were a lot of clips from shows they did not show. Could there be a Broadway Lost Treasures 3 in the works?
I also liked the interviews with Brian, Bebe and Jerry.
Those clips you talking about are extras on the video if you buy it.
Michael Jeter was PHENOMENAL. And Gregory Hines...need I say more
Alright, now that means I actually have to watch this tonight just for the purpose of seeing Colm Wilkinson and the Les Mis cast.

I tuned in at like 9:45 (we were watching our Curb Your Enthusiasm DVD) and came in right before the Grand Hotel song. Needless to say I was *very* excited when they had the Guys and Dolls segment.
I was getting so sick of them begging for money (Jerry saying "Don't you have any spare change lying around?" was a little pathetic) but it was a nice show. I would love to see even more "lost treasures" - like if they would release the Tony awards from each year a la those Time Life series.

yes, I saw it. My favorite was "Anything Goes". What was yours?
I was also a little mad they did not show a clip from "Funny Girl"!

I had no idea it was on, and I turn to it right in the middle of "One Day More," talk about good timing. I didn't know they had recorded the original cast, I was like s**t, it's Terrance Mann, and Frances Ruffelle.

It was nice seeing Richard Kiley again -- he still gives me goosebumps like no other male singer. And nice to see Gregory Hines -- so very sad he died so young. Same with Michael Jeter. Forgot how well "Sit Down, You're Rockin' The Boat" can still work 50 years later -- nothing dated about a number that brilliantly put together.

And that production's little interpolation near the end doesn't hurt it, either.
