I was asked to sing Being Alive in the church for a wedding - which I thought was a bit equivocal for the event, but it was a favourite of bride and groom. She had played Amy and he had played David in Company (I'd played Robert) ...So I suppose we could have done Not Getting Married as an encore.

Someone else I know had Starting Here, Starting Now and Make our Garden Grow sung at their reception, which was very apt and touching in their circumstances.

My aunt walked down the aisle to "All I ask of you."

Just because I got the lead doesn't mean you can't be my understudy!:)

Are the songs for the wedding itself or the reception? I am confused. Being the son of a minister if you are having the wedding at a church make sure they allow songs from Broadway at your church, cause I know some churches only want sacred songs at weddings. If the songs are for your wedding I agree with In whatever time we have from Children of Eden, and I chose Right from Baby those are both songs that I have sung at weddings. Also for a song for you to walk down the aisle, there is the wedding march from Sound of Music that uses the melody of How do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.

"My Unfortunate Erection".

Well, that or "A little Priest".

"Sunrise, Sunset" is a classic at many Jewish weddings.

I think I'd love to have "I will never leave you" from side show at my wedding! re: Broadway songs appropriate for weddings....

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever."

"Two People" from Baby, although a few lyrics would have to be changed, because they're talking about the woman being pregnant...

But it's only like two lines, and could easily be done.

And in the case of a Polygamist wedding, "Two Ladies" is a must.
