I was asked to sing Being Alive in the church for a wedding - which I thought was a bit equivocal for the event, but it was a favourite of bride and groom. She had played Amy and he had played David in Company (I'd played Robert) ...So I suppose we could have done Not Getting Married as an encore.
Someone else I know had Starting Here, Starting Now and Make our Garden Grow sung at their reception, which was very apt and touching in their circumstances.

Posted: 6/17/06 at 9:28amAre the songs for the wedding itself or the reception? I am confused. Being the son of a minister if you are having the wedding at a church make sure they allow songs from Broadway at your church, cause I know some churches only want sacred songs at weddings. If the songs are for your wedding I agree with In whatever time we have from Children of Eden, and I chose Right from Baby those are both songs that I have sung at weddings. Also for a song for you to walk down the aisle, there is the wedding march from Sound of Music that uses the melody of How do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.

"Sunrise, Sunset" is a classic at many Jewish weddings.
I think I'd love to have "I will never leave you" from side show at my wedding!

i was thinking "i'm getting married in the morning" from my fair lady.
All the lights are misty in the river

"Two People" from Baby, although a few lyrics would have to be changed, because they're talking about the woman being pregnant...
But it's only like two lines, and could easily be done.
