Broadway songs sung by Broadway stars you wouldn't expect

Is there any Broadway star that you love that could not play the role in the show but you would love to hear sing a certain song from the show? Am I making any sense?

Example.

I'd love to hear Adam Pascal and Heather Headley sing "All I Ask of You", but they would never play the roles in the real show.

Get it? Got it? Yay!

Mandy Patinkin sing "Rose's Turn" I don't think any producer would allow it because he would blow the roof off the theater and the audience would land in Hoboken New Jersey.

I would have liked to have heard Georgia Brown sing "Losing My Mind"

While not a Broadway star, I have always wanted to hear Tina Turner sing "I'm Still Here"

Rob, are you related to and/or somehow profit from Alice Ripley's success? I'm not being crass or faceitous, I'm genuinely curious. It's one thing to admire someone. We all have our favorites but there is not a role, a song, a title in public office, that you don't deem Alice the only worthy choice for.

i've seen her live three times and she's just a ball of energy. sh'es my favorite performer, and no, i dont think she fits every role, but when i think sh'es good for a role i go for it and push it. big deal, actually, it's not a big deal. really it isn't. stop making me out to be a psycho or something. :) Updated On: 8/16/03 at 02:10 PM

I don't think it'll ever happen, but I'd love to hear what Bebe could do with Gypsy. And she has played it before, but I would have loved to have seen Louise Pitre do an english version of Les Miz. And I hope that someday my dream of seeing Karen Mason as Velma VonTussle will come true!
