Hi, guys... I wanted to post this for you LA types. Hope you can make it! =)
On Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10 - in advance of Broadway’s 60th Annual Tony Awards® to be televised live June 11, 2006 on CBS - the all new supper club STERLING’S UPSTAIRS at Vitello’s Restaurant in Studio City, CA will open its doors for the first time with a Gala Benefit weekend of four performances titled BROADWAY: OUR WAY. This very special event will be hosted by 4-time American Comedy Award nominee and Los Angeles Ovation Theatre Award winner KATHY BUCKLEY (Don’t Buck with Me!).
Performers include EYDIE ALYSON (Little Shop of Horrors, Fiddler on The Roof), ERIKA AMATO (42nd Street, Paint Your Wagon), PHILIP CASNOFF (Chess, Shogun The Musical, Rockabye Hamlet), JULIE DIXON JACKSON (Jesus Christ Superstar, Side Show, Side by Side by Sondheim), BERNADETTE C. PETERS (Grease, Dames at Sea), and JOAN RYAN (Ruthless! - The Musical, Footloose, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Weber).
Partial proceeds from the Gala Benefit opening will be donated to the Culver City’s NO LIMITS THEATRE GROUP whose mission is specifically designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. NO LIMITS provides a comprehensive auditory speech and language development program that enhances a deaf child’s self-esteem through the theatrical process, as well as increasing public awareness of the needs and talents of oral deaf children.
Broadway: Our Way will be presented twice nightly on June 9th and 10th with 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm seatings. The cost of the evening is $65 and includes a wonderful, four-course prix-fixe dinner.
I hope you'll be able to attend this most worthwhile benefit opening. Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's is the only venue of its kind in the San Fernando Valley and is dedicated to preserving the art of presenting Broadway, Cabaret and Nightclub performers in an intimate, upscale setting.
Sterling’s Upstairs at Vitello’s is located at 4349 Tujunga Ave. Studio City, Ca 91604. Valet Parking is available. For reservations, please call (81
769-0905.
P.S. I did not write this announcement...this is the "official" e-mail that went out, so if it seems a little stiff, that's why. Sorry! :-P

I'm afraid $65 is a little steep for me
UGH!!! ONE day, Erika, ONE day I will see you live!
Alas, I will still be out of town. Otherwise, it would be fun!
I'll try to go. It sounds really cool. My sister used to work at No Limits.

Merde (as we say in the ballet world).
Is this the concert where you'll sing 'In a Very Unusual Way'?
drat, drat, dart.....I'm in LA until 3PM tomorrow for work, and were I feeling better I'd stay and come, but apparently I have tonsilitis so I need to get home and get my rest......yes, I am one of the four children from the early 1950's STILL with their damn huge tonsils. Ugh
I would have loved to have been there for you Erika.

Yes, Glebb. I'll be singing "Unusual Way" (from Nine) Other songs (to be sung by other performers) are "The Story Goes On" (from Baby), "If I Can’t Love Her" (from Beauty and the Beast), "Someone Like You" (from Jekyll & Hyde), "Adventure" (from Do Re Mi), "Younger Than Springtime" (from South Pacific)and "Shall We Dance?" (from The King and I).
Should be fun!
And Elphaba, I totally understand. Some other time, perhaps! =)
