I was so excited when I saw the headline that Broadwayworld had "Mamma Mia" invites. But, when I clicked on the link to show the cities, Los Angeles isn't on the list. I'm so surprised that it's not listed.
But, that's ok. Waiting another 4 weeks is fine with me.
I didn't see New York on the list either, unless I overlooked something.
Yeah, that is odd that NYC isn't listed either?
But Miami is!
Kinda hoping I get to see this one...
Not that I can't wait, it might just be fun to see it early. (DId that with Rent as well, but through a different source.)
I was sort of taken aback by the fact that NYC isn't on the list. I thought that NYC is always on the list of cities that stuff is going on in.
It's like whenever a movie is playing two cities in America and only two cities at one time it is always NYC and LA.
Yup. Hope to see the one in Miami, but alas... its a damn contest so we'll see.

The reason NY or LA isn't on the list might be that they're doing screenings of the film in areas where the film might not sell itself...
I think the film will sell itself very well..I think that maybe they are doing no screenings in that area is probably because that is where the RED CARPET(s) Premiere's will be!
I entered for Dallas..I hope I get it, my bday is June 26!!
The New York and Los Angeles screenings have already taken place. All the recent 'advance screening' reviews/comments came from people who attended one in either of the 2 cities.
Seems this is once again another BWW crap bit as I never heard anything and most of the screenings are tonight (Thursday June 26).
Though they did list Miami for one of the advance screenings tonight, nothing about this appeared anywhere. I also contacted the various theaters that generally hold 'advance screenings' here in Miami/South Florida, and no one has heard anything about MAMMA MIA! tonight.
Has anyone heard anything about any screening tonight in their listed city?
"The reason NY or LA isn't on the list might be that they're doing screenings of the film in areas where the film might not sell itself... "
Oh, really? Where did you come up with that? The contest includes major cities such as Boston and Chicago. LA and NY aren't the only places that would sell it well.
BrodyFosse123: From my understanding, not everyone would get an invite.
I wasn't asking about the invite -- I was stating that they listed Miami having a screening today and their info is incorrect as an advance screening isn't taking place at any location here in the entire South Florida area (Dade, Broward or Palm Beach county).
Again... the advance screenings in Los Angeles and New York City already took place over a week ago, hence why you didn't see them listed as one of those cities, millie_dillmount.

I won tickets to see it in Miami! I'll be there tonight!
It's at Sunrise Intercoastal, Brody.
I won in Miami as well, but I don't want to schlep all the way up to Sunrise Intercoastal, so I'm not using mine. I would forward it to you, Brody, but it requires photo ID and it has a name on it.

I tried for Dallas, and def. didn't get them.

Yeah--they listed one in San Francisco, but it actually turns out it's in Emeryville (pretty close, but definitely not in the city). I don't know why they didn't just list the actual place they're happening... but I'm just glad I won passes!

Just to ask because me and my sister were talking about it, do you think there will be any midnight showings of Mamma Mia? Me and my sister are going to a midnight of Dark Knight and we were talking about how it would be funny if like there were midnight showings of Mamma Mia and seeing a small fraction of the people at the theater at that time going to see Mamma Mia and basically everyone else going in for TDK.
Worrell, why do you always crap on MAMMA MIA in all of your posts?
We get it. You LOVE TDK. It's your favorite thing ever.
But every time there's a post about the MAMMA MIA movie, you always chime in to say how TDK is going to eat it up. And now, for some odd reason, you find it humorous that people would opt to see a midnight screening of MAMMA MIA instead of TDK.
You know those people who are going to Mamma Mia if there is a midnight showing? They will probably have more fun then you. Because a lot of people will be sitting in TDK and saying "This is so weird. Heath Ledgers dead. And this movie isn't as good as I though. I should have gone to Mamma Mia."
Or maybe that would just be me if I was stupid and chose to see a stupid Batman Movie over a musical. 0_o

WOW...the movie was so great! I LOVED IT.
I just got back from the preview in Philly.
I'm glad I didn't win for Miami, I don't see why they would list it as Miami if it is quite far. Whatever.
