If she hadn't been in 70's soft porn movies : Blue Lagoon and others, in which she proved she couldn't act, would she really have a career now. Would they really hire her now .. she's not that good.

How many bad face lifts has this woman had?

If you remeber, on the TV Show Morticia had a certain chair that she was always sitting in. In alot of the cast photos and in the opening credits she can be seen sitting in the chair with the family around her. So i think thats why it was done.

I rushed the show tonight (Wednesday)..the first act is fun, the second act a little bit boring. But god, Morticia is such a thankless role. There are a couple of funny spoken lines and a line or two in her song, but other than that it felt like she just stood there arms-crossed frowning the whole time. This discussion is probably very 2010 though. Still. I thought it was awkward that she has the last bow. I would have found it less awkward if her and Rees just bowed together at the end.

The Mezz seemed completely full, so I assume the Orchestra was also full and the audience seemed to enjoy the show though. So I guess the casting was successful..

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

@south fl marc, I think it's probably her performances in the series Suddenly Susan and on Bway in Wonderful Town, Cabaret and Chicago that might bring people in rather than the movies she did 30-odd years ago when she was a little girl.

I'm not too crazy about her morticia from what I've seen. I'm a huge addmas fan (Its one of my many obsessions) it did them proud. The adamses were a wise choice for musicalization. Though the lyrics are painful at times...
