What the heck are you talking about?
Man.... that went right over your head, huh?

Yeah, pretty much. But 2 hours of reading a book called Relational Responsibility will addle the mind a bit.
And we are still waiting to see some of this article that cclaims CRAPLND is the hottest show.
We've asked for a link or some cut n paste on this...where is it?
I'm sure Variety hasn't named this the "hottest" in terms of quality or ticket sales. I think our friend here is pulling a David Merrick.
(awaiting the usual.."whos's David Merrick" question)
sadness..Brooklyn is gonna eat Little Women's dust

...which will, in turn, watch as Spamalot outdistances them both. :)

Testing1232,
Maybe you should change your name to Testy. I guess 80 percent of the people don't like it according to your survey, which is more scientific than mine. I forgot to check for eye rolling. I am going again tonight, I will look for that. I will also check for the audience response to see if people applaud as they have in the past and I don't mean polite applause. I don't want to convince anyone of anything as I keep saying, I am just telling people of my experiences. Everyone who sees Bklyn will decide for themselves as I have. :)
Spence, the reason you'll be at the show is I'm guessing you work for it since this is the ONLY thing you've posted about since joining here.

But BKLYN is directed by the great Jeff Calhoun and stars the amazing Eden Espinoza! How can SPAMALOT possibly compete - with a bunch of no-talent hacks like Mike Nichols, Tim Curry, Hank Azaria and David Hyde-Pierce? None of those guys can puncture your eardurms with a overly belted power ballad like Eden can!
Will make you a deal, Spence.... you change your name to Shillin4Bklyn, and I will change mine to Testy... I was not being testy as all. I asked you a serious question, that you cant answer, because your post on the audience was ridiclous. There is absolutely no way for you to gauge whether or not the audience truly loves it, as you keep saying.
As far as audience applause... do you expect them to boo at the end? I didnt.... I applauded because the actors are stage are giving their all, despite a mediocre score and a horrible book.
Ummm..... 2004 hasn't come to an end as of yet, when most "Best of" lists appear towards the latter part of December. So why in tarnation would Variety start making such lists?

Matt,
I have been going to Broadway for years , I just recently found this site. I am a big Wicked fan as well as many other shows. I am a high school musical director who has been doing shows for 25 years. What you are confusing for shilling is just a reaction to you and others on this board. What blew me completely away was to find out that you just saw Bklyn for the first time after all of the hot air you have been blowin'. What sense does that make. The only thing that you and I agree on is the I think Ramona is amazing too.

I looked for eye rolling tonight did not see any. I am not an expert on audience reaction, but I know no less than you. I went with a large group tonight and it seemed as though people really enjoyed the show. I don't know what your point is...

I will be bringing 125 high school students to see Bklyn in December for a class trip. I will poll them if you care to know what young people think.

Spence, everytime I see your name, I always wonder does it have anything to do with the all girls school? Anyway, as to people having an opinion without seeing the show, the majority of people who had been claiming the show was amazing with a perfect score, plot, characters and everything else, hadn't even seen the show themselves. So it was okay for those people to rave about the musical because it was positive feedback? Hmm, intresting. And Brooklyn did a lot of appearances and a lot of people were reacting to the songs they either performed live or the ones off the CD, so it wasn't that people were going off of nothing.

kissmycookie- I'm not even finding the article that was originally referred to, so I'm thinking the whole thing is a lie.

I *think* Testing's comment at the top of the page was hinting that this is just a hoax or better yet a "fable." Just a thought.
Hey Spence..thanks so much for feeling the need to make three different posts just so you could blow more of your hot air around.
And you actually teach at a high school?
No wonder our education system is such crap.

Mr. T,
This has gotten old. This is not what I thought this board was for. There is nothing wrong with the educational system that I teach in. If this is just turning into a bitch fest, have fun, I have a life. Later.
I love when people post two-gazillion meaningless posts on one show, and then say "I've had enough... I have a life"... Yeah, ok....
Nstar... bingo..... my Aesop's reference blew past a few people :))
And Spence... oh yes, PLEASE let us All know what 100+ high schoolers thought of the show... like that wont be an exhibition in follow-the-leader. My guess is that the "cool group" will like it, and everyone else will be afraid to disagree.
