Tiny-T,
Have you checked out the photos from the Welcome to Broadway Party for Brooklyn? I'll be at Post Press night on Friday.

Imagine having all those press people in the theatre at the same time??? I think not. We may be crazy, but we're not stupid

Ewwwwwwww...yuck. Or is that some more of the dry wit on this board?
well, if he was defied, it wouldn't be dry..ok never mind =D I am turning this into broadway after dark dot dot dot. I'll stop now.
It used to be that the major press would all come on opening night and then have only a few hours to write their reviews in order to get into the morning editions of the paper.
Then the rest (weekly magazines, smaller publications) would come on the second & third nights.
As CRJ pointed out, nowadays there are many press nights both before and after the opening. It puts less pressure on the cast and allows the press more time to write their reviews.
