I apologize if there is a post about the tour ... searched and didn't find any (trust me ... I looked at the 19 search result pages) ... Just have a few questions ... Has anyone seen the tour?? Would it be worth going to see?? and also Who is the ... I guess "lead couple" is it still Anya and Pasha or is it now Ashleigh and Ryan ... thanks so much
I am seeing this show here in Sacramento on Wed. night--will get back to you with the results. The ads here say that it stars 2 couples from---"So--You Think You Can Dance". It is included in our Broadway Season, so don't know alot about it. Saw it at the Post Theatre in SF last year.
I saw it ON broadwy and was majorly disappointed in it. It is NOTHING but ballroom dance. It's really good dancing and choreography, but its all technical with no meaning or depth. I appreciated the hard work and talent but would NEVER sit through anything like it aain.

Where as I also saw it on broadway and LOVED it. It is not a musical. I wouldnt even consider it theatre. Its DANCE.
You know, a different performing art? Its a beautifully crafted event of dance. The ballroom was stunning. The staging was beautiful. The costumes and lighting were gorgeous, and well conceived.
This is NOT Thyla twarp. They are not trying to tell a theatrical story through dance. Its dance for dance sake, and its fabulous.
Well Supposedly it is Ashleigh and Ryan--though, IMO, Anya and Pasha's Featured dancing were more Electric. The one that impressed me was the female Singer-Vonzell Solomon! Who, I guess, was a contestant on American Idol. Her voice is Beautiful.
Having the seen the show in an earlier edition, I thought this was Great. And would recommend to lovers of Dance. Definitely not your tyupical "Musical Theatre" Fare.
Yes, I realize that, but I was still hoping for individual numbers to have "something" behind it. More like So You Think You Can Dance, when even the ballroom had at least a theme to full blown stories behind them. I was always under the impression that dancers don't "just dance".
I wasn't expecting a through line to the evening, just something...more. I've seen many dance shows, and always felt I had something to FEEL and something to think about. I was disappointed that this wasn't the case here.
@ Scottsacto ... Thanks so much for the feedback ... it sounds like I'd like it ... I love SYTYCD and dance in general
Thanks everyone else for their opinions as well ... Just didn't know too much about it and was interested in what people thought about it
