Burtka Replaces Morrison in Opposite of Sex

http://www.broadway.com/template_1.asp?CI=41473&CT=38

I've never seen David Burtka, but I have the Gypsy CD and I thought he sounded pretty good as Tulsa. Here's an interesting tid-bit from the article:

"I played Kerry's boyfriend in the first reading of the Sweet Valley High musical," Burtka said. "I really admire her work and I think she is a great girl. I can't wait to work with her. We have some stimulating sex scenes under the sheets, so we'll have to be really close. My character sleeps with everyone!"

I hope it comes to NY!

Sad to see Matty Fresh go, but they could not have picked a better replacement than Davey.
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher

Yeah, and I'm going out with BG2 AND Eddie Varley at the SAME time!! HAHA
David Burtka is an amazing dancer as is the ever so talented, Matthew Spouzic. Mistress- Come out, come out, wherever you are...

Look Phanty, Im back.
Ive never seen Burtka but Im sure hes fine in the role. I think Im over that fact that Matts decision to do Once Upon A Mattress meant he had to fly to Vancouver in the middle of my trip to LA to see him in Hairspray, but I knew he was waiting on the opportunity and that if he got the movie hed be changing a lot of his plans.

Why are you bumping all these ancient threads back up to the top Mistress? Really unecessary, especially the MarciX one.

Oh, you "felt like it", well I felt like telling you what an asinine thing it is you're doing...besides, how can I avoid the first page of the message board? You've totally made it your freaky playground. As shocking as this may be to you, for some of us, all roads do not lead to Morrison.

re: Burtka Replaces Morrison in Opposite of Sex

its pretty easy to not read threads that dont interest you. :) I brought back up all the topics I felt I had something to say in. so sorry this disrupted life for you. I actually stopped bumping topics about four or so hours ago but hey, thats besides the point. I didnt bump the topic where you said I "wasnt as good a friend as I implied" of Matt's if I thought he wasn't doing Opposite of Sex, I figured id skip the attitude and be nice since it was Christmas and all. Arent you glad to see me Al?

Im sure all the topics youre interested in are safe and sound on page two. I went through four months worth of topics to find what I wanted to talk about, you can surely find page 2. If people dont want to talk about the things I bumped, they will fall back again! Anyways I posted about so much more than Matt... brooke, shosh, jenn... :)

To CATSNYRevival:

Thanks for linking to the *lovely* photo I took of David Burtka--it was after a matinee and he was collecting for BC/EFA on Nov.1, 2003. I tossed some money into the pail and asked if I could take his photo--he brushed his hair, straightened his shoulders, and smiled that beautiful smile. I chatted very briefly with him--he seemed kind of quiet and shy but very polite--possibly overwhelmed by a senior citizen lady who was gushing!

And of course it's nice to see David get yet another job since the untimely demise of "Gypsy".
