It is doing so well, does anyone think it could/should transfer to "The Broadway"
Thoughts?

Good Off Broadway shows don't "need" to transfer to Broadway. In fact, I think sometimes a grave injustice occurs to both the show, cast and audience when an intimate show (not necessarily inferring that Buyer & Cellar is intimate) transfers to a big house and suddenly there are few in the audience and everyone wonders "What happened?" it was doing so great Off Broadway.
i'm surprised it's doing so well. I guess I need to see it.

Buyer & Cellar is intimate and it is wonderful.
RippedMan, everyone should see B&C, it's that good a play. And Michael Urie truly "steps out of the chorus" and becomes a true star with his multi-faceted, multi-character performance.
I loved Buyer & Cellar, but there is no need for it transfer to Broadway. It's a massive hit off-Broadway and let it stay that way.
jay is right- Urie is too good to be missed.
My only complaint: Why the hell aren't they selling at Streisand's book at the show?! Better yet, why hasn't Urie made a companion audio book to listen to as you flip the pages?

The Helen Hayes is the only real option, but it should stay where it is. It's the perfect, intimate environment for a sweet and very funny play with a Urie performance that is pure gold.
Now that it's extended, I may see it again. I'll be in town closing weekend.
Why does everyone and their mother think that a show that does well Off-Broadway must transfer to Broadway? It's making money downtown, it's getting an audience, and it's scheduled to run till January(?), so why bother with a transfer? Sometimes a show is brilliant Off-Broadway, and loses something in a bigger house. (eg. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS)
