Donkey needs to do hip-hop. We've got a guy at work who likes hip-hop and is a *lot* like Donkey. But then, I don't suppose amusing a handful of booksellers in the UK's West Country is really what's going through anyone's mind...

The thing that perplexes me about this venture (beyond the terribly essential WHY WOULD THEY DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?) is... well, why *are* they doing this? It's not going to reap the untold kazillions the movies did; it's not even going to come close. The upfront investment isnt something Dreamworks can afford right now. Shrek III will bring more financial interest back to the original movie than this will. It just seems, from a business POV, kind of a stupid move.

Shrek will NOT be a Shuler Hensley type. They are looking for a rock-and-roll Shrek. I imagine their dream Shrek would be Jack Black. Or maybe Meatloaf - 32 years ago when he did Rocky zHoror Picture Show.

Oh, I would LOVE Brian D'Arcy James as Farquaad! That might be reason alone to go see it.

Both Chamberlain and Fogler were unavailable. They were not seen and rejected. Chamberlain has an upcoming tv series and Fogler is signed for atleast four films.
