6 months ago, who would have figured that The History Boys would catch on like it did amongst theatergoers? Who would have figured that (about) 6 months would go so fast? Sunday, October 1, is the last performance of the remarkable show.
The Boys have been homesick for quite some time, as expected. They're flying home just hours after the last show, literally meeting their luggage at the airport.
I've seen them frequent Kodama Sushi on 8th Avenue, across from the Hirschfeld, a few times after the show. And, according to them in interviews, Angus M's will be losing great customers.
Sad to see it go.

Ah... This is extremely sad.
I'm just lucky that I'm seeing it Saturday night I suppose but it's still a shame.
So glad I got to see this last night. One of the better pieces of theatre I've seen in a long, long, while. I'll be very sad to see it go.
I can't believe it's gone after this week. I saw it in it's second preview back in April and KNEW it was going to be a hit here.
Congrats to the Boys for a great run and here's hoping the film is a huge success!!!
It was just a limited engagement guys. It was schedueled to close this soon.
But, I loved it, and am sad to see it go.

I'm pretty sure they knew this already.
But, still, congrats to them on a great run.
even though it was a limited engagement, it is sad that they're leaving the country
the royal premiere of the film is the 2nd, right?
the show was incredible and inspiring and i'm def. looking forward to the film!
Sad day. It was great while it lasted.

I'm so sad the show is closing this Sunday. My mom surprised me with tickets to the closing show though!
I saw the play during the summer and it was fantastic. I've read it twice and I still chuckle at the lines. I'm looking forward to the film version!

I'm absolutely heartbroken that it's closing- I never thought I'd get so attached to any show- and even though I've seen it three times so far, I'd see it a million more times too. It's so brilliant and amazing and just... beautiful.
I... I... I just DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT IT!
Last Wednesday afternoon on a whim I went on telecharge to see what kind of seats were available for Sunday because I knew I was coming in for the flea market. Somehow I was able to snare a front row left orch seat. I absolutely loved the show. I really enjoyed the use of the projections are as a way to provide a setup for each scene without using too much time. I'd recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
I really can't believe October 1st is right around the corner. Earlier this summer when Playbill and the Times had their adds with the scrolling weeks left, it seemed like there was tons of time left. The summer really flew by, which is depressing for me for several reasons!
Anyway, thanks to the boys for really making any night at the Broadhurst a special one. I wish them all a safe trip home and much good fortune in the future. I also hope a couple of them pop over stateside for an occasional show in the coming seasons. I think that's almost more sad than the actual show's closing. I'd happily add all of them to my "make a point to see them in anything" club!
I'm really looking forward to Sunday!
