CASTING FOR THE LONG RUNS

CASTING FOR THE LONG RUNS

There are some shows out now that have been around for awhile and keep updating their casts. Some of these shows are Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, the almost-late Aida, The Producers and The Phantom Of the Opera. Who do you think would make a good next (or after next) Roxie and Velma? After Brooke, the next Belle, as well as Beast. And if Aida was still going to be running, the next Aida?

If you know of some other shows similar to those, let me know. Updated On: 8/20/04 at 12:14 PM

You know who would be perfect for Roxie and Velma, from a looks point of view? Ashley Judd (as Velma) and Winona Ryder (as Roxie). Whether either of them would be any good is another matter, but they would both LOOK the part.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I'd love to see Megan Mullally as Velma. I wouldn't be surprised to see either hillary duff or lindsay lohan in beauty and the beast next.

Ugh... how many times have we discussed this? Haha.

There is nothing I would like to do more than act.

I heard the Olsen twins were trying to get into CHICAGO. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

PEACE.

Neither, but I can laugh uproariously at it.

Put a black wig on one of them and just remember Mary Kate is the REALLY skinny one and it won't be confusing at all.

Mary-Kate is already brunette, so the hair color thing is already taken care of. Ashley is the fat one.

Derek - we're joking. MK & A have a good 10 years to go before they'll be old enough to play Roxie and Velma. The show will hopefully still be running then.

Who's joking? It was in Teen People. And it will take them 10 years to get the dances down, anyway.

Rathnait62 - 10 years won't much matter for those darned twins. They have a LIFETIME to go before they gain the talent (and the weight) to play any role on stage...

I know I've said this before on a much earlier dreaded casting thread, but again, my personal dream team for Velma and Roxie, would be Orfeh and Jane Krakowski, respectively.

I feel that all the aforementioned shows should close and make room for newly written works. Warhorses should never last for years on Broadway.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I personally like it better when Roxie and Velma are 40-50ish, like in the original cast. None of this early thirties Renee Zelwegger crap. re: CASTING FOR THE LONG RUNS

Forget it Rathnait, you will never get the majority of members here to understand humour or sarcasm, they're too young. I've been trying forever and it never fails to get lost on them. Just keep talking about how awesome and amazing Wicked is and what a huge star Eden EspinoSo is and how Bare is the greatest show ever to exist and how gorgeous Gavin Creel is, and everyone will understand you.
