His voice is certainly pretty. That's the nicest thing I can say about it. *shrug*

Um. I can't find this on my local listings. I want to watch CHESS next week, but I don't see it listed. I live on the west coast. Is it listed under a different name?
On PBS I just see "KOCE FAVORITES."
I was at The Royal Albert Hall for the concert last year and, I must say, Josh Groban's performance of "Anthem" was so fantastic everyone automatically rose to their feet at the end of the number - and we NEVER give standing ovations here in London!
I had the privilege of hearing him sing it again at the Royal Variety Performance in the London Palladium last December. He was (so-called) backed by TV reality show winners, Only Men Aloud - he completely drowned out the entire choir, he really didn't a microphone.

Not bad, but his vibrato sounds unsupported. And unfortunately I've heard Anthony Warlow sing "Anthem," so I'm completely spoiled.
Sort of off-topic, but God how I wish anyone but Idina Menzel were playing Florence in this production.

I am a fan of Idina, but she was horrific in this. I don't really even want the cast recording. I just cringe listening to her sing this score. She doesn't fit at all.
Loved Kerry, Sutten, and Julia but I think Idina was so miscast it's not even funny.

Go to an Equity chorus call - for dancers - and you'll hear a dozen voices every bit as good as Josh Groban's.
I wish I was more excited about this concert, but I agree, hearing someone like Anthony Warlow sing this song makes it hard to not critique Josh so much. Also, Idina is a poor substitute for the sounds of Judy Kuhn and Elaine Page.
