CHICAGO To Air On NBC

Chicago airs this Saturday on NBC at 8pm EST!!! First network broadcast!!!!!!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

They must figure that the type of people who would watch CHICAGO are the type that's not interested in the World Series.

OK, for a second there I was close enough to ask if it was Brooke Shields' performance or the Original Broadway Cast...and then I remembered there's a great Chicago movie out there and that's the one they will air on NBC, hehe. Still very exciting!
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

Ugh, if they "edit to fit in the alloted time" I'm going to throw something at the TV.

Well, they're showing it in a three-hour block so the time editing will probably be minimal. I'm not sure what sort of stuff will get cut content-wise, though.

Does anyone even watch theatrical movies on network tv anymore?

re: CHICAGO To Air On NBC

You know, I've always wondered how they'd edit Chicago for broadcast. Specifically in "Roxie," the line, "...And Sophie Tucker will ****, I know..." It goes over is so fast that I didn't even know that's what she said untill I had listened to the soundtrack nurmerous times, and had seen the film twice. Just wondering.

It's possible they recorded an alternate track. Or they could just bleep out the word. I set my tivo for it. I own the DVD, but I'm curious to see how they edit it.
