Tom Stoppard's trilogy The Coast of Utopia has extended its Broadway run at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater two months, to May 13, 2007.

Tickets for the extension will go on sale Dec. 8 at 10 AM. The trilogy was originally scheduled to close March 10.

The extension includes six additional Saturday marathons, in which all three parts are performed in one day: March 24, March 31, April 7, April 21, April 28 and May 5. (The previously scheduled marathons will be held on Feb. 24, March 3 and March 10.)

The Coast of Utopia tells the story of a group of 19th-century Russian intellectuals who debate politics and philosophy and struggle to change their political system.

"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Thank God! I was so disappointed today when I went to get my ticket for Part 3 and discovered it was totally sold out. How awful would it have been to see the first 6 hours but not the final 3?

Thankful for the opportunity, even though there'll be a long gap for me between shows.

Thank God! I had seen the first part already and was so devestated to find the third part had sold out. This is certainly a lovely, little Christmas gift.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

AMAZING NEWS!

I saw the first part, have tickets to the second part, and couldn't get anything for the last part. This made me so happy!

Wow. I'm not sure why I'm surprised but I am. I bought tickets for all three months ago so it doesn't affect me, but I'm glad to see it. I wonder who will have to leave for other jobs. David Pittu is slated to do Lovemusik, so I know he'll be leaving, but that's all I can think of.

Just got my tickets! I am so excited. Now I'll be able to get some closure on the whole story, even if I have to wait until the end of March to do it.

And as for people leaving, it's such an ensemble piece that I don't think it will matter much, although I'm not sure why Lincoln Center didn't just announce a longer run in the first place. I guess they didn't want to anticipate demand until they knew for sure because of the commercially unappealing subject matter.

Just bought my ticket for the March 24 marathon. I've already seen VOYAGE three times and have SHIPWRECK this coming Tuesday and SALVAGE on February 3. I got the first row of the loge, dead center, which is my favorite place to sit in the Beaumont. I'm so excited!

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body
