COMPANY'S First Preview - Oct 30th?
#0COMPANY'S First Preview - Oct 30th?

I might try to see the first preview of Company on Monday on Oct 30th.
And I had a few questions, since I have never seen a first preview before.
Will the Rush be offered for the very first preview? Even if there isn't rush for the first show.. will there be a good chance of getting any left over 36 dollar seats the day of? It's not going to sell out, will it?
Do you think Sondheim would attend the first preview? Obviously, Doyle and the producers (I assume) will be there. But what about Sondheim? Is he more likely to attend the previews later on, through opening night?
And..would the cast stage door on the first preview? Or will they be staying after for notes; or even possibly some rehearsal?
Any ideas, answers? This first preview thing is so new to me. So any info would be appreciated.

Posted: 10/20/06 at 8:52pmThe stage door is generally a crapshoot and just sort of depends on the show. Cast members may come out, but you may not get the whole cast, they may have to stay for something or go to a party, or whatever. I would say that if you really have your heart set on meeting the cast, it wouldn't be advisable to go to any first preview, simply because it's sort of the luck of the draw moreso than most other nights.

I'm sure I will see the show again after it's officially opened. So there will be more chances to meet this cast.
I'm mostly concerned about ticket availability. Because it will be a day of thing for me. Meeting the cast, being in a theatre with Sondheim, etc would all be an added treat.

I can't imagine it would be totally sold out... I'd guess it's worth a shot? The $36 rear mezz seats that you can buy in advance are probably going fast, but they also have rush, so you could get something as long as it isn't sold out.
I wish I could be there; seeing a first preview is something I've wanted to do for a while. I have to be at a reading for my job that night, though.

Thanks, Emcee.
Ah, I am so excited with the thought of seeing a first preview of a show. Especially Company.
I expected you to be there..
Job obligations though.
So I think it's a pretty good chance I will get SOMETHING for the show. Maybe even box seats? I know when I saw SWEENEY a couple days after it opened. They gave us box seats for $36, they had no more rear mezz left, and the show didn't have a rush yet.

It's ok, I heart my job. :) I'm gonna go that week, so it'll still be fine.
The policy implicitly states that as long as it's not sold out, you'll get something.

Posted: 10/20/06 at 10:26pmJust a general wondering... do actors usually not come out during previews at all, or just the first preview? I have the opportunity to see the show during previews, but I'm not sure if I should wait because for me, stagedooring makes the show more fun. And, what do you think the chances are of Raúl coming out? I'd love to meet him, but I think I heard that he usually doesn't stagedoor? Thanks!
